I am still fine-tuning my schedule for the semester and thought that it might be interesting to take a 200 level Religion course on Catholicism. I went today and ran into some teachings with which I am not familiar. At your leisure, feel free to educate me.
Are these true:
Are these true:
- The Gospels of Mark, Matthew, and Luke are not attributed to the specific apostles. The Gospel according to Mark influences the Gospels according to Matthew and Luke. This is a apparently position supported by the Instructio given on the eve of Vatican II (I have not verified this)
- The Blessed Virgin did not remain a virgin during birth, as such a birth would have detracted from Christ’s human nature (this of course is contrary to St. Thomas)
- Our Lord was not aware of his own identity (I seriously doubt this since I’m sure at some point Jesus said “Before Abraham was, I am”
