Let’s untie these silly knots in our soul God doesn’t want. Let’s take belief as easyas it is and as joyful as it is.
Some of my friends where disappointed and worried, because Pope Francis’ changes in annulments of marriage, when he finally simplified the marital nullity
en.radiovaticana.va/news/2015/09/08/press_conference_details_marriage_law_reforms/1170376

But this act was long ago overdue, as so many live forcedly in broken marriages, which is life-long hell for many innocently forced into terrible marriages with violent partners and more; marriages that have nothing to do with Christian togetherness, in fact a disgrace before the Lord.
In the up to now execised way, too many true Christians and absolute believers were excommunicated (my mother for one), which too is a disgrace before the Lord. To this the Pope will set an end. Mom did not, but many former Christians when against their solemn will were excommunicated then also left belief - which is a huge catastrophe which drww circles. They simply were disappointed by our Church more than they could bear, and we must avoid to judge them, for we can’t really reenact what’s going on in them.

A friend asked: Can anyone who is pro-abortion be a Catholic? If we do not follow the Church on matters of morality and faith, we are outside of the Church. A clear case, for he who is pro-abortion = pro murdering unborn children, thinks and acts contrary to Christ’s doctrine, not letting live him, who is wanted by God. So, this opinion is anti-Christian altogether, disregarding if Catholic or any other Christian. Far off any Christian doctrine.

A celebrity (as many others we know) often highlights the fact he is Catholic on his show. He goes to Mass and lives a clean life. He lives with his girlfriend and their son. He is also pro-gay marriage. However - he is still Catholic. All of us got one or two points not in line with Jesus Christ, but we are not aware of it and were shocked if we suddenly got the insight of the truth. Many are completely unsure of right and wrong and therefore simply line up with the main-stream. Besides, those living together in martial togetherness, are married to their woman anyhow - though not in the Christian way - unaware that it’s the Christian blessing that provides the ribbon to sanctify marriage in God. But married he is in the way St. Paul pointed out in 1Cor 6,16: Or do you not know that anyone who is united with a prostitute is one body with her? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”
This of course by no means implies that his woman is a prostitute! Paul here simply used draconic language - though it does apply to real prostitutes as well! So, many will find themselves with trembling and awe having been married to many before God, of which they had no idea during their time on earth.
I fear that in this line too goes the terribly ugly „semen-donation“ - which make men „father“ to even hundreds of people they got not the slightest hunch to.

Back to Pope Benedict’s word „BELIEF IS EASY“
Christianity’s general problem is, that we got by far too many ifs and buts in our though believing, but much too worried soul. It’s so easy to live in God through Jesus’ doctrine of the but 2 commandments; love God and love your next. So let’s untie these silly knots in our soul God doesn’t want. And take it easy.

„Take it easy“ does by no mens indicate we are free to neglect any of Christ’s doctrines. But ones we got it, we’ll inevitably find out, that a life within Jesus’ doctrine, is a lot easier than outside.

FYI - the blue and red font would add nothing to what you have to say, which I cannot read; and, it hurts my eyes. Too bad for me, the title sounds interesting.

Agreed. Up the font size and stick with black.
The formatting should be secondary to whatever you are trying to illustrate, either way.
Peace.

Font color problem solved, I think…

Second try:

We cannot “take it easy”

We are supposed to carry our cross.
We are required to suffer.
We have no choice in the matter.
We are held responsible for the sin of Adam and Eve temporally (but not spiritually - Jesus took care of that)

Life is suffering and suffering is life.

Aren’t Christians also called to be Missioners of Joy“?! Of JOY - not of misery and suffering. In our prayerbook for Children the headline is: "BE A MISSIONER FOR THE JOY OF CHRIST“
Missioners of Joy indeed were and are our last three Popes!

What shall Jesus Christ do with such a grumpy and deeply depressive perception of life?!
I didn’t find it in English, but Pope Francis reminded us in his homily of July 27th 2013 (sure you’ll find it in the net) that a Christian is a person of joy and happiness.

This of course doesn’t mean hilarious joy all the time, but the deep prevailing mood of inner joy Jesus Christ gave us. The word >JOY< and related expressions appears in the Bible Old Testament as well as in the New Covenant, continuously. Yes, Christ said among others in Luke 9,23: take up your Cross and follow Me. But Jesus also said in Matthew 11,30: My yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry. And in very many sentences Jesus Christ said like in Luke 10,20: rejoice that your names stand written in heaven in the Book of Life.

And didn’t the Angel announce to the shepherds in Luke 2,10: „Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people"
It’s really a ever so comforting homily of Pope Francis - great if you find it.

But Jesus also said in Matthew 11,30: My yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.
That assumes that it is Christ putting the yoke on them. There is this guy in a red suit with a pitchfork doing that too. How to tell the difference between the yokes? Oh yeah. There is none.
And in very many sentences Jesus Christ said like in Luke 10,20: rejoice that your names stand written in heaven in the Book of Life.
What is the definition of a pretext? A text taken out of context.

The context was Christ was physically present, and talking to them personally. It was a personal message to them. Not us.
And didn’t the Angel announce to the shepherds in Luke 2,10: „Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people"
If an Angel were to talk to me and give me good news, then there’s a chance of me actually getting joy in my life. Until then, God does not want to talk to me. All attempts I’ve made failed. So how am I supposed to be joyful knowing God does not want to talk to me?

Don’t you think you are asking too much? Your depressions can’t be healed by accusing God and His Angels not to speak to you personally. Do you realize at all what you are asking for?
Long before you were born, God decided pro you. In your Baptism God spoke second time to you. In your comprehension of the Gospel God spoke to you, and so did God in every receiving of the host and in every prayer. How come you are asking more than the even Saints ever received?
It even would be worth while to think about it, what you destroy in weak believers or people who seek belief and your sample, when you keep demanding things you presume God withheld from you?
Don’t be like that child who keeps telling his loving father „you don’t love me - else you would……….“.
To be a Christian - to be a believer - to follow Christ - to recognize God’s being and the joy of the Good News God gave us, it takes belief; to believe in Jesus Christ.

To wait until God addresses us loud and clear so we can’t ignore it, you must yourself recognize as impertinent and impossible demand. Remember what an otherwise loving and just King had done with such demander in the old days. Since God really loves you - else you wouldn’t be born nor be member of the Church Jesus Himself founded (on contrary to the many split off Churches men founded) - it’s really and indeed an insult to God to ask even more and a personal address of God “or at least an Angel” as you mentioned.

In revealing Himself in the Old Covenant, and in Christ’s salvation through His passion, The Holy Trinity did more for every single one than we ever deserved. Let’s not overdo it by demanding even more and not like that toddler who cries at his father „I don’t love you any more!“

If you - as you do - refuse the joy Jesus spoke about and gave to those who believe in Him, then it’s your beer. But don’t drag others into this refusing state too.

Yours
Bruno
