In the interest of charity, maybe the people who voted Mahoney want him to come to their diocese so they can harass him until he gets back in line with Rome!
Bishop Wenski of Orlando is good,and if I had to pick internationally, I’d choose Archbishop Pell of Australia, Bishop Gassis of the Sudan, and Cardinals Ratzinger and Arinze of the the Vatican
I would not presume to advise the pope, he is the one with the protection of the Holy Spirit when he makes his choice of bishops. Even the bishops that seem terrible to us have been appointed for a reason, even if we cannot discern what the reason is (to make us humble, instead of somebody even worse, to make the good bishops stand out, to keep us from getting complascent, who knows?)
