Dear Friends,

Cardinal Jose Saraivo Martins, Prefect for the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints, who recently presided over the public presentation of the relic remains of Saint Padre Pio (see thread at forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=235488)), has announced that sometime in 2008, the beatifications of Cardinal John Henry Newman and that of the parents of Saint Therese of Lisieux will take place.

After the Eucharist and the other sacraments, I like this part of our faith the best…the communion of saints. Praise God!😉

Yes, I too love this aspect of our Faith and so I am pleased to share this information.

Have you seen my other threads which are posted at this Forum? I think that you will enjoy this information as well.

Our God is great and these reminders of His ongoing miraculous Presence in our midst are to be sure so important to our Faith.

Thank you.

👍 That’s wonderful. It’s funny, there is a St.John Neuman’s parish in San Antonio. When they had finished building it,I recall driving past it and my dad saying that they named it for Cardinal Newman. But I told him,no,it was for John Neuman,Bishop of Philadelphia,to which he replied, never heard of him.Guess my late father’s predicition is coming true.
You know, the parents of St.Therese, the Little Flower would be good patron saints for married couples, next to of course Our Blessed Lady and St.Joseph.

I’m happy to hear of another married couple both on the way to sainthood. There aren’t many married saint couples. It will be interesting to learn about their lives, since they should have much to say to married couples.
