I don’t know if I should generalize here because I don’t know the minds of anyone else, but I see in Catholic circles a lot of opposition to the possibility that the Pope may make it possible and easier for remarried Catholics to be admitted to the Eucharist.

Is that a bad thing? Should we be so attached to doctrine that we ignore the pain and separation that millions of otherwise good Catholics feel?

I think I have shown my bias here, but do not want to start a debate. I just want to know what others think about pastoral responses to situations like this.

sorry, I think this is the wrong forum. Please ignore and I will move it to a more appropriate one.

Yes

Doctrine is truth and truth is Christ. To abandon doctrine is to abandon the truth and to abandon the truth is to abandon God

End of story
