We need to know what the youth are saying even if it isn’t what we want to hear.
I’m thinking about the likely fruitfulness of it all.Ok, then why the resistance?
A huge number of Catholics will tell people who are gay or people who experience transgender issues to just not talk about it – that talking about it will “encourage it”. If the Church spoke definitively on the need for more light and more conversation, there would be a basis for people to say, “I speak openly about these things because the Church teaches me to.”Who’s afraid? The question is whether what the Church is being asked to do is reasonable. Where does the Church imply that those who experience these issues shouldn’t speak of them?
Um, check my first post again. It includes an opinion piece AND the actual pre-synodal document. The tattoo comment is probably not what you or the other poster who eluded to it what you think it is.
I noticed what you quoted was an “opinion piece”. Before you cast judgement, why not read what was actually said from a credible source. Then maybe you won’t be so worried about the Synod.
A credible source
3rd time: who said anything about fear? All I see here is a bunch if fear mongering. Discussion is a good thing, it dispels myths and misunderstandings. Why is anyone afraid of it?
