I was unable to vote, as none of the options applied to me. I have been blessed not to be affected by the economy directly as of yet. As a divorced mom I’m also the sole income.

There have been job cuts in both our of jobs, but neither one of us has lost our jobs yet, thank goodness. I’m a musician, but I also work part-time about 13-20 hours a week for a little steady income depending on work load, and am basically the only one in the entire company, who does what I do, so that is a safety thing for me.

In regards to my work as a musician and speaking to my other colleagues, we’ve all lowered our rates a little bit so that we can get more gigs. I have also noticed that the pattern in weddings. There are more happening in off-peak times. I’ve been lucky, where I’ve been fairly busy with various gigs, but not all of my colleagues have been as fortunate - and they rely solely on their music income. It’s a little scary.

Started as a 60% reduction in pay and then finally laid off last month. The silver lining is that we’re getting out of a town in Florida where we’ve been rather miserable. Thank God.
