Please pray for all who live in this Hurricane Katrinas path. Please pray for no loss of life and that God may send his angels to weaken this storm. Our Lady of Promt Succor…hasten to help us.

I’ve been offering up prayers and aspirations for them all day. I lived in New Orleans as a young girl and know something of the area and the people there–they’ll come through this hurricane and bounce back like they’ve had to do many times.

Their governor was just on Fox telling people how and where to evacuate. Let’s pray people take it seriously and get out of the way before it is too late as well as that it won’t be as bad as they fear it might be.

Dear friends

Oh I am so sorry about this terrible weather. May God be merciful and set His hand upon this hurricane and calm it, may He stop it in it’s tracks and all life be spared.

This whole area remains in my prayers. I have just caught the news on UK television about it. I am with you all in spirit.

May God Bless all of you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

I would like to ask everyone to please keep me, my family, and all residents of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in your prayers…unfortuneatly, Katrina has found very warm waters in the gulf and strengthened to a CAT 5 Hurricane and landfal is expected within the next 24-36 hours…Katrina is heading almost to the same exact spot that Camille (1969) hit…and it is nearly as strong…and will probably strengthen further before landfall. We are in a state of emergency here…it is crazy. Let us pray for the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. God Bless you all…if we lose power, it may be a while before I see you all online…

Vivat Jesus,
Sonny

Oh yes D…I have and will pray…Take care and know we pray for you and all.

It’s now a Category 5. The damage will be Catastrophic! Praying and praying hard!

Yes, I am praying for God’s Mercy and will continue to pray for everyone’s safety.

PRAY FOR ME! ILIVE IN LA. Katrina aint got notin on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The mayor of New Orleans just announced a mandatory evacuation of the city. New Orleans is like a saucer bowl. The levees around the city are the rim of the bowl. The center part of the city is 18’ below sea level. When the levees go, the city will be under 15-20’ of water meaning that only the buildings above 3 stories will stand any chance of survival. My brother and uncle (the only family I have left there) evacuated yesterday.

We will probably have hurricane force winds in the Baton Rouge area and some flooding from torrential rains. Wind damage will been extensive though.

Please pray for Our Lady of Prompt Succor to help the city of my ancestors. It was to OLPS that the citizens of New Orleans prayed during the battle of New Orleans. She saved the city from the British. May she save it from the hurricane.

Am doing so brotherholf, get outta town, take some older neighbors with you or something. You too dumspirospero and cormier, GET OUT NOW, God bless you all. Will keep praying for her intercession. Your highway patrol said to go to
www.lsp.org for the best path out (i guess that is the state patrol web site. highway 10 they said was good, and they mentioned a couple of others, you guys have to go now, later this afternoon it will start being too windy to travel, go NOW.

An evacuation order has been issued for New Orleans. GET OUT!!! Know that we are praying. Praying for safety, praying that the storm will weaken dramatically, and whatever else we can think of to pray for.

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR

Patroness of State of Louisiana

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, ever Virgin Mother of Jesus Christ our Lord and God, you are most powerful against the enemy of our salvation. The divine promise of a Redeemer was announced right after the sin of our first parents; and you, through your Divine Son, crushed the serpent’s head. Hasten, then, to our help and deliver us from the deceits of satan. Intercede for us with Jesus that we may always accept God’s graces and be found faithful to Him in our particular states of life. As you once saved our beloved City from ravaging flames and our Country from an invading army, have pity on us and obtain for us protection from hurricanes and all other disasters. (silent pause for individual petitions). Assist us in the many trials which beset our path through life. Watch over the Church and the Pope as they uphold with total fidelity the purity of faith and morals against unremitting opposition. Be to us truly Our Lady of Prompt Succor now and especially at the hour of our death, that we may gain everlasting life through the merits of Jesus Christ Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times)

Don’t worry about me getting out or dumspirospero. Both of us are in the Baton Rouge area which is 55’ above sea level. Our danger will be tornadoes, torrential rain, and wind. I went early this morning and filled up with gas and got gas for our portable electric generator. We are filling the bathtubs with water. Stuffing the freezer with ice. We have numerous hurricane lamps and oil for them as well as candles. Folks at the grocery store were buying charcoal because once the ice in the freezer melts you either cook the meat or loose it.

Oh wow…thank you very much allhers. I’m going to print it out and keep it by me all day.

Praying for you and dumspirospero and all who will be affected by this dangerous storm. God Bless.

Dum & bro, hop on I-20 and go a couple of hundred miles east or west and come back tomorrow. It’s not worth it. I’m about the same distance inland and rode out Hugo. Never again. The only thing that saved me was the storm passing about thirty miles to the east. The back side of the storm hit here. If you happen to get the front side, you’re going to be in a world of hurt. The couple of hundred bucks it will cost to leave for a night is nothing compared with your life.

I’m praying for you guys…stay safe - maybe you should head out of town anyway just to be sure?

Probably not a bad idea guys. I personally would not stay for anything above a Cat 3, even inland. I just would not want to go through it, even if I didn’t feel that my life would necessarily be threatened. Take care.
