I am against any suggestions of giving a try to something that you should learn about prior to involving yourself with it. You do not have to put your hand into a fire to see if it will burn you. You should be cautious, because there are different factions in all religions, and some are fanatical to the point they will not let you depart from it. To them, your interest is construed as a commitment. Too many catholics call themselves catholics, but do not practice their faith, nor do they try to strengthen their faith by learning as much as they can about their faith. I have many family members, like myself, catholics, but to them it means just going to mass on Sunday, and maybe the holy days.Anyone that considers another religion must be weak in their religion, or do not agree with its doctrine. You do not pick and choose. You either agree totally, or you go elsewhere. Where did all the different christians denominations come from, from people that disagreed with certain things they feel should be acceptable, abortion, homosexuality, and the list goes all. I have gone to different christian denominatiions, not to join or participate, but to educate myself or my friends that practice that denomination so that I can see the difference and defend mine, from which their denomination sprouted.Martin Luther broke away from the catholic church by his ignorance of his own faith, not knowing the truth. He believed that people were paying money to have their sins forgiven, but in reality, the Pope at that time was asking for people to make contributions to help maintain churches and restore churches and other historical things in the catholic church. He told them they would be blessed and receive graces for their contributions by God, not forgiveness of sins, which they would attain by becoming stronger in their faith and go to confession and do what they should be doing as a catholic. Islam, Muslims, whatever you want to call them, are way off in regards to religion. Their religion was founded by a mortal, radical, sick man,(epileptic), Mohammed, whose seizures were interpreted by his much older wife as visions from God. He became what he was by the influence of his wife and her interpretations. The muslim faith has fragmented into different factions just like the christian faith.Jesus is immortal, and history bears this out. If you question your faith, you will become either weaker of lose it, and I am referring to the one true faith, Catholicism. If you don’t know it, you will not grow in it. We have to put fertilizer on our faith, in other words, research, to make it grow and flourish. Mohammed is buried, and still lies in his tomb, Jesus rose from death, conquered death and there is evidence to prove what happened before and after His death. Miracles were performed and verified in numbers beyond comprenhension by Jesus. How many miracles were associated with Mohammed and the muslim faith. Indonesia is a muslim nation that persecutes christians, but do people see the things and catastrophies that are happening there, and who do you think is permitting these things to happen, There are people that try to dig up trash about the catholic church,to destroy it, but they end up finding the truth and become catholics. I have a neighbor that is muslim, and his hatred against the Jews was so great as a child, his mother had him and his brother sent to America to prevent them from being killed by Jewish soldiers that were defending themselves.God still loves the Jewish, Hebrew people. It is from them that the catholic church became what it is today. The Bible tells about the past and the present. Read it and absorb it, and you will know the truth, and where the catholic church came from. The apostles new the truth, and they were willing to die for their faith and the to be catholic church.Let us support our catholic brothers and sisters, not discard them to other religions or denominations. It is the way we live, not the way we talk that influences others to become catholic.
I seek not to anger, but to inform, with my limited knowledge about the catholic church. I do not know all there is to be known, but I will not cease to search even further, to know all I should know.
I believe that our Blessed Mother stated that once we are catholic, we are always a catholic. I have read so much in my hunger for my catholic faith, that it makes it difficult to state exactly where I acquired the information, but it is in line with the teachings of the church.
The catholic church did not conquer nations or areas to spread its faith. I can not say the same for Islam. Look at Iraq and the Sunni and Shiites, and even other nations. They are killing each other because of their faith. They want their religious beliefs to rule nations, which is dominated by the men. Women are treated like second class citizens, if they are fortunate enough.Their religion is dominated by men. As a catholic, I have preferences that are based on the catholic church, and believe women are treated equally. They may not become priests, but Blessed Mary was not chosen to be an apostle, but something beyond an apostle. She has and had more influence in the catholic church, even in the present age with her various apparitions. She is the Mother of the church.
Where can we find such beauty, other than in the Catholic Church. Our true faith and Mother!
