This morning Pope Benedict XVI accepted the retirement of Bishop Raphael Michael Fliss and named Bishop-elect Peter F. Christensen as the new Bishop of Superior, Wisconsin, USA.
Then I think Superior is not all that different from most dioceses in the western hemisphere…Superior is kind of different, my roomate told me unlike the other four diocese, Milwaukee, Green Bay, La Crosse and Madison, (he used some special name) but I think its called a Territorial Diocese meaning that Superior is a diocese where there is a lot of Evangelization that needs to be done as its not a diocese with a solid Catholic population. All and all, its a great time to be apart of the Catholic Church in Wisconsin
Yes, I would agree. I once read that there were four prerogatives of the early church fathers; Antiquity, Orthodoxy, Sanctity and Approval by the Church. We all long for strong leadership from the front. Perhaps our churches can become more Eucharistic centered and that H.H.M. (Happy Horse Manure) theology:dts:, as Father Corapi says, will fade away. So I’m looking forward to our new Bishop arriving and crack’n the whip.…Superior is kind of different, my roomate told me unlike the other four diocese, Milwaukee, Green Bay, La Crosse and Madison, (he used some special name) but I think its called a Territorial Diocese meaning that Superior is a diocese where there is a lot of Evangelization that needs to be done as its not a diocese with a solid Catholic population. And anyone who did that would still be chastised by the Priest and Bishop. There was a group of laity that called itself “Ushers of the Eucharist” which tried to stop people who had Rainbows on their clothes at the Cathedral of St Paul, MN a couple years back. Archbishop Flynn chastised that lay group from taking it into their own hands to deny others communion. As far as I am concerned if he came up he would receive. I couldn’t pick him out in a lineup. Have no idea what he looks like. Someone in a front pew would have to stand up. wave his arms and yell," Don’t give communion to that public sinner!" Well what is a person to do? Maybe we could put posters like they used to have in the Post Office of the most wanted criminals in the vestibule of our church. Be on the lookout for this notorious sinner!![]()
By the by, over in Michigan the locals used to call my great grandfather Black Jacque. That would be about mid 19th century.

Well, those people who were wearing Rainbows (Rainbow Sash movement) on their clothes supported homosexuality in the Church, not just for homosexuals themselves, but also their right to perform homosexual acts. Which are against Catholic Church teaching, see here. And anyone who did that would still be chastised by the Priest and Bishop.
