US Bishop Changes: Baltimore, Rockford, Pensacola-Tallahassee

This morning the Holy See announced the following decisions of Pope Benedict XVI:

• Named Bishop William Edward Lori (Bishop of Bridgeport, Connecticut) as the new Archbishop of Baltimore, Maryland
• Named Gregory Lawrence Parkes as the new Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee, Florida.
• Accepted the retirement of Bishop Thomas George Doran and named David John Malloy as the new Bishop of Rockford, Illinois.

We have a new bishop in Rockford, Illinois! :extrahappy: Not saying that our present bishop was bad. He is a good man and has been waiting for over a year since his mandatory retirement age and is in ill health but he hung in there until the new bishop was named. Bishop Malloy will have a tough act to follow.
