US Bishop Changes: Bismarck, ND & a Nuncio

This morning the Holy See announced these decisions of Pope Benedict XVI:

• Bishop Paul Albert Zipfel retired and Bishop-elect David D. Kagan was named Bishop of Bismarck, North Dakota, USA.
• Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò was named Apostolic Nuncio to United States of America.

The post had been vacant since the death of Archbishop Pietro Sambi in July 2011.

My prayers are with the new Bishop Elect and the people of Bismark. I also pray that the Holy Spirit will guide our new Papal Nuncio in his duties.
