So point me to the republicans’ offering of comprehensive legislation that would address all three (the economy, jobs and the poor). What do they propose, suggest, support or envision? Just one glimpse of vision, I beg you (and no, Trickle Down economic theories don’t count - I mean real, drafted legislation supported by some kind of forecasts of job creation, economic growth and poverty numbers).

Where’s the innovation you were talking about? I see all kinds of things being tried (at least locally) to improve kids’ academic achievement, from feeding kids breakfast to giving them extra help after school. Any info on what ‘innovations’ have a better track record?

I think you are the one who doesn’t understand how economics works…or maybe it’s just recent history that you forget…When Obama took over from Bush, the country was hemorrhaging jobs and the economy was growing toward the earth’s core. Cutting taxes is not a ‘comprehensive’ solution unless you can actually show sustainable results on all the three factors I mentioned. For example, right now Wall Street is setting records while the poor can’t support families on minimum wage jobs. For more historical perspective, I refer you to Bill Clinton’s address to the DNC last year.

That is good innovation - if it is truly as successful as these numbers claim.

Maybe charter schools have worked for NO or maybe the revamping of standards make it look like they have. In any event, there is no evidence of this as the one bandaid for every city/state.

I still don’t see the link. I never claimed, as some posters are arguing, that the Pope does not care about abortion. The Pope said stop making our whole message about abortion and homosexuality. That IMO, includes hitting people over the head with abortion to win an argument.

The unborn are not pawns, they are not substitute punching bags to release our political frustrations; they also should not be the inspiration for insults to hurl at other people. They are real human beings who deserve to be treated with respect, not exploited for political points. And this para, is 100% my own thoughts on the matter.
