Boston Cardinal Sean O’Malley is leading a group of three US bishops who have arrived in Cuba to meet with their Cuban counterparts and review the situation on the ground following the devastating 2008 hurricanes.
“We want to see how the situation has evolved after the hurricanes and have contact with the bishops, the clergy and missionaries,” Cardinal Sean O’Malley, archbishop of Boston, the Latin American Herald Tribune reports.
“We’re here to find out what we can do to be more useful to the church in Cuba. We’ve had a long history of collaboration,” he said. The delegation also includes Orlando Bishop Thomas Wenski, and San Antonio Auxiliary Bishop Oscar Cantu.
