US bishops warn of errors in feminist sister's book

Lest anyone be swayed that the bishops do not know what they are talking about, here is the actual statement they made. It quotes St. Johnson extensively and presents some of the problems against a backdrop of the Catholic understanding of God. And no, dear Sister it is not necessary to use female language for God. That is not Catholic teaching. That is feminism.

The all-male imagery that is used by the Church (not true, btw, as StAthanasius quoted earlier) is not rooted in the hierarchy. It does not represent inequality between genders. That is modern feminism talking, not theology. Is this Sister a feminist? Walks and quacks like a duck to me, but I am not a theologian like her (thanks be to God!). I start with what has been divinely revealed by God first, not modern thinking.

Well done, and I applaud our bishops for their frank and direct statement.

Yes it it. It is a good thing that the bishops and I did not do that. Right? And it is good that you did not state that or that would be a self-indictment. Pot, kettle and all that.

The agenda becomes clearer.I think someone has practised Eisegesis rather than Exegesis.Theology is not philosophy and should not be sophistry either.

I think a few folks are angry with the Patriarchy.So what else is new.Thank God for courageous Bishops.
