That actually might not be the worst thing in the world, if the existing nationals are unwilling to reproduce, teach the faith to their children, and live relatively moral lives.

I love the diversity of my parish! It always reminds me of Rev. Martin Luther King’s observation that the most segregated hour in America is the hour of worship.

I believe this to be very true. Currently the Archdiocese of Chicago uses 24 different vernaculars. Polish and Hisplanic participation in the Mass is flourishing rapidly. This, of course, forces many parishes to go bilingual and even trilingual. While on the surface this looks like a desirable thing, in reality it causes a lot of tension and stress, each side fighting for the most favorable time and available priests.

That also seems to be the natural outcome of parish consolodatations\mergers.

Larger parishes (by definition) and they would propably be more diverse, too.
