A US lawyer has filed a legal motion to have Pope Benedict XVI questioned over the child sex scandal that is rocking the Roman Catholic church, he told AFP Wednesday.

Lawyer William McMurry filed a motion in a Kentucky court Tuesday seeking to take sworn testimony from the pope on what the Vatican knew about the long-running scandal of predator priests.

Kentucky is the same state where a court tried to exert jurisdiction over some Internet websites, including ones based overseas. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the pope is deposed.

He wants money. Not justice. He already won a 45 million dollar settlement for local victims. Now he wants more.

does anyone else just feel so lost by this? Maybe it’s different for me. Benedict was Pope when I came in to the church. The thought that he may have known about this and worked to cover it up makes me feel awful. My heart breaks in light of all of this.

Yes, sometimes it makes me feel lost. Yes, it makes me lose faith in the human element of the Church. But in all fairness, it’s too early to lose faith in the Pope. I’m going to keep praying and wait it out because the truth will come out in the end.

What makes me sad is how many Catholics on these forums are so quick to believe these accusations without any proof.

What makes you think that a court in Kentucky has the authority to depose a pope?

Did you happen to peruse the website you just posted a link to? Ha-ha. Surely you can find better sources?
Unfortunately, there are better sources. That’s what makes this all so sad 😦

Did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe the enemies of Holy Mother Church are spinning this up?

All these articles are primarily coming from two sources; The AP and The New York Times. Then it get’s disseminated throughout the internet on garbage sites like the one you linked to.
