Romney is so arrogant. I don’t believe a thing that comes out of his mouth.

i think you are confusing arrogance with CONFIDENCE. Romney is comfortable talking about economy and jobs. he actually HAS experience! Romney knows how badly the middle class have been struggling the past 4 years and he is EAGER - not arrogant, to show that he understands why the economy has slowed down and what it needs to get a boost.

Nope, I’m pretty sure it’s arrogance. He doesn’t inspire any confidence from me at all.
What has he said that you considers "arrogant "
His demeanor and tone.

Very good debate so far…perhaps one of the best I’ve seen. For as well as a speaker as Obama is, I’m surprised to see how defensive he’s been this first hour…

Excellent live feed at Huffington Post.

My impressions so far:

Romney coming across as well educated on the issues, very likable and looking much more in control and Presidential than Obama.

On the economy, Romney has already won this debate hands down.

Waiting to hear something on controversial domestic social issues.

Going much better for Romney than I thought it would.

Im trying to be objective, but I think Romney is doing better, by far. He seems upbeat and positive, and I think he’s doing a better job of connecting than he did during the primary debates.

President Obama seems outright dour. Every pan they have to him while Romney is speaking shows him with a big frown on his face.

Romney isn’t having any Reaganesque, ā€œThere you go againā€ from 1980, or "I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience…
" from 1984 moments, but I think Romney is making his case better.

It’s a consequence of being a successful businessman. Believe him or not…he will get the job done.
ā€œSuccessā€ in business through shady tactics in not how this country needs to be run. Sorry, not drinking the Romney Kool-Aid. He’s no better than Obama.

I’d say that Rob Portman did a far better job of debate prep than John Kerry. Romney is in command here; sounds well-informed, smart, quick, and is doing a good job of combating the portrayal of him as uncaring. Doing himself a lot of good here with undecideds, I imagine.

:rotfl: Like the Obama Kool-aid better?

I try as well to look at the debate in a neutral light…I think Obama’s problem is he’s not backing up his points as well as Romney. He just keeps throwing in the ā€œlook what republicans have done in the pastā€ and ā€œno tax for the richā€ cheap shots.

I think they’re both doing okay. Obama showed a flash of tetchiness when he said to Jim Lehrer ā€œI had 5 seconds before you cut me off.ā€ Expectations are probably lower for Romney so if he can hold the line he has a slight advantage.
