Good to see the Bishops defending the principle of subsidiarity.
 
Too little and too late. Some USCCB spokesmen supported Obamacare openly until that mess with the Stupak amendment. Then they began to worry, but not even then suspecting the HHS mandate was in the cards for the Church all along.

And sometimes USCCB spokesmen still support Obama proposals. One would think they would have learned their lesson; there’s always some bear trap under the snow with anything Obama does. They never seem to learn until the trap snaps shut on their ankles. And even then…
 
Yes, I recall some bishops pushing for the approval of Obamacare, only to be waylaid by the HHS mandate removing religious liberty. Amazing that they didn’t see it coming.
