Met just recently and maintained their focus on Abortion and Homosexual Marriage. A little focus was added to Pope Francis’ pastoral concern of mercy, poverty, and compassion. I would like to see more concern in our nation over issues Our Holy Father suggests. Funny, and sad, how the media always tries to portray it as “Pope Francis vs the Bishops”.

I think this quote goes a long way towards explaining the Bishop’s continuing priorities:

"Pointing to the recent string of state same-sex marriage bans struck down by federal judges, Cordileone said the country was at a ‘critical point.’ "
 
OP, I find it shocking to quote from the anti-Catholic AP and National Catholic Reporter(!) in attacking the US bishops and imply that they are somehow in opposition to Pope Francis in opposing abortion and defending marriage. Pope Francis has many times spoken against abortion and in defense of marriage. In fact, the bishops talk about all sorts of charitable and secular issues but none of those is as important as defending innocent human life.
 
What we all need to do is get “Active” ring/write/E-mail the Editor of the paper and tell him what you think of his incorrect Reporting and that you wont be buying the paper if a road of lies is all they are able to tell.

I ring the BBC at all hours of the Night, and follow it up by an E-mail, I put it into context like how would you like it if I kept attacking the BBC, Queen, C.O.E (Church of England) and all were lies and I kept repeating the lies, I tell them I will put there lies on Facebook/Twitter for all to see there bias against the Catholic Church, so far all is quiet with the BBC who knows I might have got through at last after my many phone calls and E-mails. Don’t let the bully away, they only get worse.

Pope Francis has spoken quite often about marriage, family and abortion as well as the poor. I am happy that our Bishops have recognized this and not fell for the liberal media’s (and liberals in general) attempt to change the Holy Father’s words to suit their agenda. Souls need to be fed as well as mouths.

I find it intriguing that some people act as if the Church never did any charity work for the poor until Pope Francis was elected.

It’s just like 🤷

I agree johnnyc176. Any attempt to fallow Our Holy Fathers lead is a good thing. I might even say that the new inclusion is a witness to something good to come. 🙂

Well the Bishops are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Spreading the full Gospel and not just one aspect of it.

I think Pope Francis and some misinterpreted translations were supposed to be their excuse to an extent to advance the First World progressive agenda under the guise of the Catholic Church.
 
Perhaps the reason the USCCB is meeting is so they can vote on disbanding. Now that would be something.

Hi Robert Bay, I’m not sure who you sent out the warning too. I looked again at the responses on my posting and to me all seemed find until the last few postings. Was it on of my postings that brought about the warning? Please let me know what was said that stirred the warning so it can be cleared up, removed, and an or learned from. Yes, I find that very interesting too. A complete mental remaking of Popes Benedict and John Paul II. In actual fact, all of the Popes have been very consistent (surprise, surprise). People see what they want to see and that’s about it. Both sides do it to Pope Francis.
