In the 24 Hours newspaper (24hrs.ca), Monday, Feb. 13, p. 9, right column, it is alleged that a prominent Italian politician compared or described himself as “the Jesus Christ of politics”, since he allegedly claims, “I am a patient victim, I put up with everyone, I sacrifice myself for everyone,” he is quoted in the paper.
Meanwhile, in Matthew 24:23,24 …“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Lo, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders…”

Julius, I think the politician was saying that he was Christ-LIKE in his behaviour (which is something that we are all called upon to be, remember) rather than that he really WAS THE Christ. If he starts claiming to have raised people from the dead or making religious pronouncements then you should start worrying. 😛
