Using Reiki to connect with angels?

I remember reading how a nine year old girl did a school paper based on her experiments with Reiki as a healing method. Her experiments, which her mother who is a registered nurse helped her with, proved Reiki to be a bogus method of healing. In fact, the experiments were accepted by the American Journal of Medicine.

Also, there have been some recent scientific studies on alternative healing methods and science has shown they are ineffective.

So, apparently with the bad press, Reiki practitioners now needs to turn to something that science won’t have an easy time proving as being bogus.

Did you know that also, according to science, God is bogus as well?

That isn’t strictly true, scientists largely ignore the idea of God’s existence because it cannot be proved, or disproved, reiki, on the other hand, can.

Ki is the same thing as the Holy Spirit.
By any true Christian standards; this would be classed as believing a lie.

“Ki” is a force; while the Holy Spirit is a Person:

Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, **I will send him **unto you.
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Joh 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Joh 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Joh 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

With all due respect, science says no such thing at all. Science works in the natural, while God is supernatural. They work in different planes, so science will never be able to prove or disprove God.

If you believe otherwise, find me one study using scientific method that “disproves” the existence of God.

In fact, many great scientists (Paschel and Einstein come to mind) believed in some type of God.

May God Bless you with the strength to stay away from Reiki,

Jeff

BTW, I use to study martial arts and Tai Chi.

Chi is not the Holy Spirit, nor was it ever taught as being such by masters.

Chi is biological energy impulse, which the brain is able to direct to various parts of the body. Its how karate experts break bricks and Tai Chi masters can put out a candle flame with their hands.

It is not spiritual, but metaphysical and explainable by science…

Sorry but as a martial artist I can break things, but have never used any kind of ‘‘energy’’ save the energy it takes to put your fist or foot (or head in my case) through the target.

sounds like it’s describing an evil power to me. as far as breaking bricks and putting out candle flames, that’s more plain physics rather than special powers (metaphysical or supernatural). i.e. magicians.

if it’s not natural, it’s supernatural. if it’s not from God, it’s evil. well that’s my plain two cents that will probably be attacked before i even hit the submit button…

You’ll get over it. There is nothing wrong with spreading light to people, is there? I didn’t think so.

Can’t have everyone share your un-researched beliefs about reiki, now can you?
The devil makes a lot of things look wonderful, to lure us away from God.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

Section 2116: “All forms of divination are to be rejected …They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.”

Section 2117: “All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, to as to place them at one’s service and have a sueprnatural pwoer over others – even if this were for the sake of restoring their heatlh – are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion…”

Read why Reiki is a New Age, gnostic practice is divinization and a risk to our spiritual health in this article on the “Catholics United For Faith” website:

Science is not a person but a “branch of knowledge” which exists to help explain God’s creations. My daughter is a scientist. Most of her fellow students believed in God.

blacktiger, it’s apparent to me that you’re not using much of your God-given gift of reason, let alone faith, in this matter. You’re relying on your own wisdom (or lack of it?). : (

Prayer is communicating with God – even when we have doubts that He may not exist, we can pray.

from the book of the prophet Jeremiah, Chapter 29, verses 12-14a:
“When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for rme, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the Lord, and I will change your lot…”

Essentially thats what I said. Its not the Grasshopper-mystical-spiritual thingy. 🙂

Exactly what I was trying to say.

Jim

Sorry, misread it, I got you now 🙂
Its biophysics. When we want to move a part of our body, our brain sends electrical impulses to that part of the body.

Hence, when a boxer throws a punch, his mind is sending impulses to the muscles in his body to carry out the act.

There is nothing magic or supernatural about it, other than God created the body to function as it does. That in itself is the wonderful mystery.

We call upon God’s force when we pray. SO should we not pray, then?
Nope. We call upon God as a PERSON when we pray. We don’t “call upon God’s force” as if it were electricity and pray was a wall switch.

Nope. We call upon God as a PERSON when we pray. We don’t “call upon God’s force” as if it were electricity and prayer was a wall switch.

Edited to add: Prayer is not about “using God’s energy”. Prayer is about communing with God, praising Him, learning His Will and asking for His Mercy.

Hi

there is an excellent website which has links to the vatican offical web site, to do with reiki etc. If the link doesn’t work, then type in “Reiki and the catholic faith” in google search and then click on the first web page which is CUF.org, this makes it quite clear what the problems are of these things. here is the link if it works:
cuf.org/faithfacts/details_view.asp?ffID=200

God Bless you and you will be in my prayers.

In the advanced level of Reiki II practitioners there is a lot of secrets that are never to be disclosed to anyone involving memorizing Japanese symbols and words and using the power of these symbols and words to heal anyone at a distance. The sick person can be across the country or the world. God is not in any way shape or form involved in this.

Hi I hope someone can help me. I recently learned in my community the practice of Reiki is being taught as a way of connecting with our angels.
🤷 When I “connect” with my angel I just say, “Hey, I need to talk to you” and I have no connection problems.
I also understand that reiki is a new age practice. Yet when I brought up my concerns about the use of Reiki I was told by the diocese more or less that there is nothing wrong with teaching Reiki and yes many catholic fundamentalist also disagree with it but things change. Help can someone clarify this…
Why?, why? why? why? does the church / diocese use such practices??? 🤷 .

The question I have for this diocese is this - is the God you claim to worship so impotent and ineffective?, or are you people just bored with Him. Do you even remember the God you promised to serve? Or do you have to improve Him. Is your God not perfect the way He is? If He is perfect, why do you adopt such garbage to be ‘spiritual’? Why do you mock Him by claiming to worship Him. Stop intermingling filth with the worship of God, stop insulting the Holy Angels by engaging in occult arts to ‘connect’ with them. Where is your loyalty? That tiresome, burdensome thing that God loves - loyalty. Its not cool, it’s not trendy - so lets sully our souls with garbage and intermingle garbage in our worship of God. Regardless of what anyone says, SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE!! Never! The use of sorcery, under whatever guise you disguise it, is never acceptable to God or in worship of God.

If you think I’m on a rant, your dead right I am  and I am unapologetic

Of course I’m not angry with anyone here or the OP 🙂 👋 but as a Christian, this is my response and reaction to this kinda stuff

There is no need for Reiki in order to connect with angels. You can simply pray to them, and they’ll hear you.
