Go ahead and tell everyone here how
you support guns being given away without involving Government Nepperham.
You set up a strawman about a father giving a shotgun to a son. I’'m a technical dude: Intra-family gun transfers between licensed adults should not be restricted. There you go.

Go outside those parameters and there needs to be some oversight. Have you yet crafted an argument as to why someone NEEDS to purchase more than one firearm a month? Or within 24 hours?

It is not a straw man at all!

It is just the kind of thing “abortion”-Northam is OUTLAWING.

There IS oversight with private gun sales Nepperham.

Just not the kind of “oversight” you mean.
There are already laws on the books barring citizens from private gun sales to criminals.

Don’t fall for the leftist idea lies that we have all imbibed to a certain degree Nepperhan.

Government has been an abject failure regarding gun crime.

The leftist solution?

MORE Government!

He not selling the shotgun to anyone.

I totally understand what you were saying.

It’s the sale of firearms to people we now nothing about that I don’t think should be allowed.

I have to pass a background check when I buy a gun. I think everyone should.

This is seeing people as beasts. Don’t fall for it CradleRC58.

If you don’t feel comfortable selling your firearm to someone, nobody is forcing you to.

If you don’t know if they are felons, just ask.

And if you are still not comfortable, don’t sell.

We ALREADY have laws covering people who sell to criminals.

So if you don’t know someone that good, don’t sell.

If you really feel strong about it, just sell to a gun dealer. That’s not a big deal.

Government track records with guns are IMMENSELY WORSE than any citizens are the last hundred years or so.

.

With that kind of a terrible track record of Government,
WHY in the world would you want to GIVE them MORE power
to go along with their unaccountablity??

Well I don’t feel it’s worth arguing over.

I feel pretty good about my country with or without Universal background checks.

That’s your call.

But things could change ten years from now.

It is our proverbial “grandchildren” that I am most concerned about.

Nepperhan:
Everyone believes in some level of gun control
That’s a bold assertion.

I think people should be able to order machine guns off amazon with free shipping. If you can afford it, you should be able to buy it.
Fortunately for the rest of, society’s laws do not agree with you.

LeafByNiggle pretending gun laws of yesteryear were more restrictive than now.
No, it is true.
This is only true if you were black (leftists discriminated against blacks back then too).

A history professor put out this fantasy and lost his position over it.

If you want to attempt to defend it, please do.

And yesteryears gun laws were so restrictive,
that you could buy fully automatic weapons
BEFORE the 1930’s
(does not sound very restrictive to me).

Sorry! That was conservatives who discriminated. Civil rights laws were a progressive program, not a conservative issue.

" The practice was started in Southern states, which were among the first to enact laws against concealed carry of guns and knives, in the early 1800s. While a few citizens challenged the bans in court, most lost. Winkler, in his book Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America, points to an 1840 Alabama court that, in upholding its state ban, ruled it was a state’s right to regulate where and how a citizen could carry, and that the state constitution’s allowance of personal firearms “is not to bear arms upon all occasions and in all places.”

Louisiana, too, upheld an early ban on concealed carry firearms. When a Kentucky court reversed its ban, the state constitution was amended to specify the Kentucky general assembly was within its rights to, in the future, regulate or prohibit concealed carry.

Still, Winkler says, it was an affirmation that regulation was compatible with the Second Amendment. The federal government of the 1800s largely stayed out of gun-law court battles…

As Dykstra wrote, frontier towns by and large prohibited the “carrying of dangerous weapons of any type, concealed or otherwise, by persons other than law enforcement officers.” Most established towns that restricted weapons had few, if any, killings in a given year."

A surface to air missile is not a firearm according to the SCOTUS.
OK. But the NRA has objected to the markers (taggants) which would identify explosives. So, at least for the NRA, missiles would be under the rubric of firearms.

Democrats. Progressives. Chief Justice Taney, Woodrow Wilson, Hugo Black appointed by FDR. Racism, particularly institutional racism, is the fully owned legacy of progressive Democrats.

Taney and Wilson were not progressives. Hugo Black was a force for civil rights on the court, despite his background. He signed off on the Brown decision, remember? The Democrats who blocked civil rights laws were in fact, conservative. Many of them, like Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms, fled to the Republican party over civil rights…

Wilson not a progressive? What? 🤣🤣
He is still a hero of the progressive movement.
Taney was absolutely a progressive Democrat.

He was a kkk member when FDR, another progressive, appointed him.

They were not conservatives. With few exceptions, the Dixiecrats stayed in the Democrat Party because the Republican Party was the Conservative party.

I am not worried about refuting Nepperham.
I am wanting evidence.

And neither you nor Nepperham has provided any.

Yes, criminals are noted for truthful replies to enquiries of that kind…
Like I said. If you are not comfortable with that, nobody is forcing you to sell.

You can still go into a hardware store, etc. And do an FFL transfer if you want.

People selling to criminals are already covered by laws already in place.

Imagine that, people claiming things that they have no experience as a country with on CAF. The shame of it…
