As part of my job I’ve logged close to a million frequent flyer points. Seeing as how it makes little sense to save them, I was going to book a flight to somewhere. It would be me, my wife, six children, and a nanny flying. With as many points as I have just about anywhere in the world is possible as long as we can survive the flight. With as many people as I have, staying in a hotel is out of the question, so I will be looking into renting or exchanging a house somewhere. We will probably fly into a major airport, change cities 1 or 2 times and then fly out of another major airport.
The only thing I need is suggestions as to where to go. Has anybody done something similar with a large family? Where can you recommend going that is family friendly? I don’t really want to chase after six children in a large, hectic city so I was envisioning sticking to smaller towns and more rural areas. So far I was thinking of going to Germany: fly into Frankfurt, take a train between a few small towns (no idea where yet), and then return out of Munich. Germany is safe, has good infrastructure, is relatively cheap outside of the large cities, and the flight isn’t too long. Any other ideas or recommendations?
