I had a door to door guy come to my house for a Kirby demonstration. If I had the money I would have bought it!
I love, love, love my Dyson. It never clogs, is very easy to empty without a lot of dust flying back at you, and the onboard attachments are great. You can pick one up for about $400. If you have pets, Dyson has the Animal, which is about $600, and really sucks up the animal hair.our new carpet was too much for my old kenmore. do you have a good vaccum. how are those bagless ones.
You either don’t have a dog, or you have a poodle.Any upright with a bag and a 12 amp motor will work fine on carpets if you change the bag often and replace the beater drive belt yearly. You can buy a LOT of extra bags and belts with the $400 you saved over getting a Dyson.
Yeah…I got the joke.Did anyone realize this was supposed to be a joke? Is this too serious a subject?![]()
I doubt there is such a thing. I pretty regularly clean the hair out of the brush by cutting it up with a pair of scissors and just pulling it out. It really makes a difference on how well the vacuum cleaner works. It takes about 5 minutes, but is definitely worth it.I’ve killed my Bosch bagless upright several times now, with hair clogging up the carpet beater brush and burning out the beater brush motor. Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner whose beater brush doesn’t get clogged with hair and burn out the motor? Or do I just have to take it apart and cut the hair off more often? (sigh)
Am I the only one this happens to?
Right. Cut the hair out. I have a long-haired dog and do this all the time. No big deal.I’ve killed my Bosch bagless upright several times now, with hair clogging up the carpet beater brush and burning out the beater brush motor. Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner whose beater brush doesn’t get clogged with hair and burn out the motor? Or do I just have to take it apart and cut the hair off more often? (sigh)

Good catch. No dog. And now another reason I never will have one: vacuums cost $400 more when you have a dog, apparently. You either don’t have a dog, or you have a poodle.![]()
I went through two Whirlwinds and got a Dyson a couple of years ago. It does clean much, much better. The attachments on the Dyson fall off too though. Bummer. We bought a Hoover Whirlwind 6 years ago for a ridiculous price. It’s a good, solid vac but on the heavy side. Great suction but the attachment extensions fall off frequently. Next vac WILL be a Dyson.
Once I went Dyson (Pet) I never looked back.our new carpet was too much for my old kenmore. do you have a good vaccum. how are those bagless ones.
