And I thought Jesse Ventura was bad.

MINNEAPOLIS — One gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota is giving a whole new meaning to the “dark side” of politics. A man who calls himself a satanic priest plans to run for governor on a 13-point platform that includes the public impaling of terrorists at the state Capitol building.

Jonathon Sharkey, also known as “The Impaler”, plans to launch his gubernatorial campaign on — when else? — Friday the 13th. He’ll make the announcement in Princeton.

“I’m going to be totally open and honest,” said the 41-year-old leader of the “Vampyres, Witches and Pagans Party.”

Should be interesting to see how many votes he will get. After all, they elected Jesse “The Body” Ventura.:whacky:

…And they don’t want another Catholic on the Supreme Court. :hmmm:

Ted (hiccup) Kennedy would probably pick this guy over Alito.

Well, perhaps hanging terrorists by the neck in the town square would be okay, but impaling them is a tad too “15th-century Rumanian prince-ish” for me.

As for the rest, I think I’d pass. The last thing anybody needs is a satanist priest who celebrates evil in public office.

Minnesota…isn’t that where those two guys, Haugen and Haas, come from?

Hmmm…must be something in the water. 😉

Sharkey said he was injured during a parachute jump with the Army in 1982 and receives veterans’ disability benefits.
Obviously landed upside down!!! Or forgot to take it with him when he jumped.

If he announces that his running mate will be “Count Chocula”, we’ll know what kind of injury he received.

It’s all too true that my state has sometimes deserved the title “The Land of Ten Thousand Loons” (instead of “Lakes,” which is our state motto). Ironically, the loon (or grebe) is our state bird. 😛
Including the impaling of terrorists, rapists, drug dealers and other criminals, Sharkey’s platform includes emphasis on education, tax breaks for farmers and better benefits for veterans.
When I heard this on the news last night I just about blew my Diet Sprite through my nose. :bounce:

I’d like ask this guy how, if he is dedicated to being evil, he can possibly be for “education, tax breaks for farmers and better benefits for veterans.” Those are all positives that any other candidate might run on.

It is obvious he’s only styles himself a Satanist in order to enjoy whatever jollies suit him instead of being truly evil in every sense of the word.

Edited Original Post’s quote to 3 paragraphs.

Oh WOW. Just when you think you’ve seen it all…

I think Lewis Black (comedian) got it right when he said the quote in my signature!

In the Full article, the satanist said he has no problem with Jesus only Gof the father. From a completely orthodox view, if he has problems with God the father then he also has problems with the Holy Spirit and Jesus too.

This poor crazy is now the subject of a petition to get him and his wife evicted from their home, and the wife has been fired from her job as a school bus driver. I saw a photo of him wearing a cape. I think he read “The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova and admires what he read about “Vlad the Impaler” who the book posits was Count Dracula.

“The Impaler” what a joke!

Unfortunately, this nut lives in my town. And Princeton is a small town, so everyone is talking about it. It’s going to be interesting as this whole thing goes on.
