Vandals smash Malankara church

Police are guarding a Catholic Oriental church in Hyderabad (India) after unidentified people vandalized it yesterday.

“They put the tabernacle, the Bible, missal and other items on the altar and burnt them,” said Father Felix Thondalil, pastor of the Syro Malankara Catholics in the southern city today.

Four years ago the church was attacked by Hindu radicals. Such attacks, on Catholic churches, worshipers, and religious have been a rising problem in recent years.
