Would not reversing the procedure even though we had the means to do so be a way of us not repaying what we owe to God? Like Nate used the example of a thief who confesses his sin of stealing $1000 and is absolved; isn’t the thief required to do their best in making restitution for the theft in this life? Wouldn’t a thief who was absolved of theft but didn’t do what they could to make restitution in this life be liable for making restitution in the next life; purgatory?
