I am a pro life Democrat so I don’t see your point.
Really? If you’re a pro-life Democrat then for whom do you vote? Couldn’t be Obama, couldn’t be for any of the Democrat senators. Most Democrat reps…

Btw, you haven’t addressed any of my points.

Ishii

I voted for Obama just like 58% of the people of our faith did. I guess we do not meet up to your judgment… Oh wait… what did he say about judging…

How is creating more poor and increasing the size of those dependent on govt handouts, “doing more for the poor” ?
Obama has created more jobs in the last two years than Bush created in eight. In fact Bush netted ZERO jobs in eight years after blowing a surplus, starting two wars and putting them on the country’s credit card with China. Enacted his own health care initiative for medicare that you would call communism if Obama did it.

The Dow was at 6500 when Bush left office, the banks were collapsing, the auto industry was collapsing, and he was losing 650,000 jobs a month and Obama is creating more poor people? There’s that false witness thing again…

Just because I’m a Democrat I’m a communist? Hmmmmmmmm

I noticed you skipped over the wars and the death penalty conveniently:shrug:…
I have never said YOU are a communist. But you cannot deny communist is left.
As far as war and death penalty, the other poster answered it well. Plus, both war and death penalty are happening under GOP and Dem presidents. What do you say about that? Obama sends troops to different new places! Obama did not stop death penalty, did he?

Health care is necessary, but not under the price of killing babies and grandmas. That is doing evil in the name of pretended good. Obama writes abortion into the law. He wants generation after generation to kill the innocent. It is declaring war on all the unborn forever.
A just war has a time to end, an unjust war on babies into the law is endless. Plus, Obamacare rations(deprives) the health care of the old. The old people are denied of treatment. That is another unjust war on the seniors. It is Evil. period.
And by the way, I am NOT a Republican.

Oh so you didn’t vote for Bush twice? LOL It’s funny how none of the right want to take any responsibility for him now. He was the second coming then and now he has been denied so many times the cock cannot crow anymore, he’s lost his voice…😉

Please look at your judgmental tone and your jumping into conclusion. This discussion is nothing to do with whom we voted for president. It is about the Church being attacked by Obama.

An unaffiliated independent voter can vote for whomever better fits his moral standard and values. I can understand many, including several in my family, voted for Obama the first time. But once we are better informed and see the true picture, a person with a clear conscience should be able to make a better educated choice the second time. I am glad at least my own family are doing better in this area.

Like I said earlier, at the end, we each answers the Lord with our own choice. May God’s peace be with you.

I don’t judge the hearts of anyone, just their (and mine) actions in relation to catholic moral teaching. So your simplistic answer falls short doesn’t it.

The wars were authorized by bipartisan votes in congress, so nice try blaming Bush for everything. Also, I think you’ll find the average unemployment rates under Obama to be significantly higher than under Bush. If you’re going to argue that a higher unemployment rate is better, then I think you’ll have a hard time with that. True, the economy was in bad shape when Obama took office - but this “Obama recovery” is the slowest recovery from a recession - atleast in post WW2 times.

One more thing you need to understand - Obama hasn’t created jobs, it is the private sector that creates jobs through investment and risk taking. Unfortunately Obama’s huge spending and increased deficits makes business wary of taking risks right now. And, increases in fuel costs has to hurt as well. Too bad Obama is so in the pocket of the green energy lobby that he can’t authorize building a pipeline that would create jobs and help reduce energy costs…

Your posts seem to all be based on resentment and a desire to vent, and accuse others of lying and judging rather than have a fruitfull discussion and attain some kind of a mutual understanding. I wonder what your goal is?

Go read the story of Onan. It’s in the OT. God does prohibit artificial means of stopping his creation.👍
Something else found in the OT…

Deuteronomy 22

22:28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
22:29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

What does any of this have to do with Vatican Bank and JPMorgan?

Every one posting here has a right to their opinion whether you agree with them or not, it could be said that your posts seem to be judge of others because some in these political posts can give our President credit where credit it is due. Some of us do recognize the progress that has been made in so many areas of his administrations governing concerning the common good.
I am a pro-life Democrat and so my conscience will not allow me to support him concerning that issue ,however , I believe he has governed our country well for the most part and while the economy must continue to improve it has been moving in the right direction.
Peace, Carlan

On what issue specifically do you think Obama deserves credit for doing a good job?

58% of Catholics voted for him why would he want to attack us? As far as birth control goes more than 98% of Catholic’s use birth control. See below. Obama is just a Democrat, he’s not the anti-Christ.

salon.com/2012/02/02/catholics_need_to_preach_what_we_practice/
I haven’t read through the entirety of this thread, so I don’t know who else commented on this, but that’s a bald-faced lie. Salon magazine is pro-abortion, and like to repeat any lie that makes their side look stronger.

That 98% lie came from a poll in which the Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood, asked women if they used birth control, what type, and what religion they were. The 98% comes from the fact that of the Catholic women who use birth control, 98% use some type of artificial means of birth control. The other 2% were the ones who count Natural Family Planning as birth control. In other words, 100% of the women talked about in the poll were using birth control, but “only” 98% used an “approved” form of birth control. Furthermore, they did this study by specifically choosing women who were most likely to be using birth control. They didn’t do this poll in any regular setting, the results were fixed, because it’s Planned Parenthood.

Even given all of that, if you go to the Guttmacher Institute’s website, they say that 62% of women in the US use birth control. How is it that, out of all of the women in that poll, 98% of the Catholics ended up using artificial birth control, when only 62% of women in the US use it, and it’s against Catholic belief to do so? It’s because they’re lying about the results.

Women of child bearing age 15-44 is where the 98% figure comes from. 62% refers to all women. What do you think would happen if your priest asked all the women of child bearing age to empty the purses in church this Sunday? I think a lot of birth control pills would be falling out.

P.S. You can’t always shoot the messenger because you do not like the message. Every fact that does not agree with ones rigid views should not result in an attack on the person or organization stating those facts. We know how much birth control products are sold in this country. This is really not in question.

There’s that bearing false witness thing again… This applies to those that disagree with and especially so… Jesus was not referring to the people that agree with us when discussing that.

God Bless

Got Osama Bin Laden
Ended the war in Iraq
Saved the auto industry that is now thriving
Made it so parents can keep their kids on their health care programs to 24
Stabilized the banking system
created 3 million jobs
lowest growth of govt. in yrs (Bush doubled it)
Financial rules so that Goldman Sachs and their friends cannot fleece the American Public again not to mention credit card reform
Steadily decreasing the annual debt 1.3 trillion from Bush to 1.2 in 2010 and now 1.1 in 2011
Got rid of Mohmar Kadaffi
Pursued and got countless Alqaeda leaders wherever the were

I’m sure there is more but that’s pretty good list so far for three years in office… And Bush did what?

Love God too, you said it…plain and simple and we grant that, no matter how ideal we want it all to be, nothing or anyone is perfection. We all do need the Saviour,so we pray! Peace, Carlan

Wishful thinking. They still fleece people, just differently.
You’re right. As long as our Presidents keep renominating Bernanke and other doves to the Federal Reserve, this will continue.

I asked: “on what issue do you think Obama deserves credit for doing a good job” For example, “foreign policy” or “the deficit” “economy”, etc. but whatever. My responses are in blue.
Got Osama Bin Laden fair enough. Give him credit for authorizing the mission. Catching bin Laden isn’t a foreign policy, now, is it?
Ended the war in Iraq - No, Bush did that with the surge in 2006 was it? Pulling the troops out because the war was largely won is not “ending the war”.
Saved the auto industry that is now thriving- - At a cost of only 100 billion dollars. I & the majority of Americans disagree with you on this. According the the TARP auditor, tens of thousands of jobs were lost by the Obama admin which hastily decided to close dealerships unecessarily. That’s what happens when you let govt. bureaucrats decide the winners and losers. Socialism doesn’t work. Made it so parents can keep their kids on their health care programs to 24 - Wow - a crowning achievement indeed. Maybe some of the kids can get free abortificients too!
Stabilized the banking system - if you say so.
created 3 million jobs- As I said earlier, govt. doesn’t “create” jobs. What is the unemployement rate under Bush? What is the average unemployment rate under Obama?
lowest growth of govt. in yrs (Bush doubled it) see comments on deficit below.
Financial rules so that Goldman Sachs and their friends cannot fleece the American Public again not to mention credit card reform

Got rid of Mohmar Kadaffi - Kadaffi was evil, but what replaced him? The jury is still out on this. Pursued and got countless Alqaeda leaders wherever the were- Countless? LOL.

I’m sure there is more but that’s pretty good list so far for three years in office… And Bush did what? - I’ve got news for you - Bush isn’t running this year.

Now let’s look at Obama’s failures:
  1. record high deficits: according the CBS news, “The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama’s three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency.”
cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57400369-503544/national-debt-has-increased-more-under-obama-than-under-bush/
  1. HHS mandate - any catholic ought to be alarmed at the Obama admins requiring of catholic institutions going against their consciences and providing abortificients and contraceptives - regardless of whether “98% of catholics use contraceptives” as you wrongly said. (someone has been accusing others of “bearing false witness” on these threads. Hmmm.)
  2. tepid economic recovery: weak economic growth - the slowest “recovery” from a recession since WW2.
  3. Obamacare - reckless spending on a program that will bankrupt our country and that a majority of Americans are against.
Btw, if you’re interested, here is a good column that helps explain why govt. bureaucrats can’t remotely make the right decisions on how to run an economy - and why the free market can.

jewishworldreview.com/cols/will032212.php3

That’s a few for you - hopefully you can respond to my substance with some substance of your own and not slogans.

Now let’s look at Obama’s failures:
.
I almost forgot:
  1. record high gas prices - and Obama’s refusal to do anything to increase the supply of fuel by allowing the construction of pipelines, etc. - instead, spending money on failed “green” energy companies.
