Look at the language you use, " to go on a bloody tirade, killing Jews in Europe, robbing the Italians, killing every man woman and child in Jerusalem", that isn’t true, it’s a gross exageration, but you have no problem stating it.
It is most certainly true. The very first thing the very first crusader army did was kill the Jews it found in Europe, then it attacked the Hungarians, and then the Italians, only then did it get on to slaughtering all the civilians it could grab in Jerusalem (1099).
Now if someone talked about Muslims raping and sacking Constantinople, or 9/11, I bet you would be all over them.
The muslims didn’t “rape” constantinople, they actually made something out of it. The crusaders on the other hand did turn it into an economic and social failure by sacking it 200 years before the Turks did.

The fact that you are defending a belief-system from being “misrepresented” that denies Jesus even died on the cross let alone the fact that He is the Son of God is one great big bash not just to Catholics but more importantly to Jesus Himself.
If I remember right, Jesus loved all his enemies and wouldn’t support lying about them.

The problem is that there are lots of lies and hype designed to make us all hate muslims here. This is exactly what Jesus would NOT have wanted.

Jesus does not love heresy. Heresy is spiritual poison.

The crusades helped ensure that Europe was not enslaved to Islam. It kept the militant Muslims busy at home. But keep in mind how often they kept trying to invade us. Thank God the crusades, despite their faults, saved the faith. St. Louis of France pray for us.

Hey pro, is there anything you Muslims can do that would make you finally condemn it? You are so quick to attack my faith and so slow to look at your own in the same way. Let’s see, we defend our land against Islamic invasion and are therefore bad. Muslims blow up civilian targets and therefore are good. Wow pro. what logic.
It wasn’t a self-defense action. If anything the Muslims were stronger at the end of the crusades than before.

Is there anything you can provide to justify an agenda of spreading hatred against Islam based on the authority of the Church?

While you may think I’m not Catholic, I’m now certain that you are not a Priest.

I can only laugh at your attempts to describe the Crusades…Listen to this:

catholic.com/radio/calendar_search.php

Type in crusades and listen to “Crusades, what really happened”.

the guy is a professor of history for the University of St. Louis. You have no clue what your’e talking about seriously…Here’s one of his books on the subject, read up you sound ridiculous.

If you say so, but a heretic who treats his neighbor well and loves him is more Christian than one who hates his neighbor because his neighbor is muslim.

I’m going to go out here on a not-too-controversial limb here and say that, if there is a devout muslim who works for charities and wants to befriend Christians, he is closer to Jesus than this so-called Priest posting on this forum.

You just recommended the reader’s digest version of the Crusades.

Have you even read it yourself???

Well you hate Christians, so that doesn’t make you very Christian.

Please quote me on hating Christians. Really, if you’re going to accuse me of this, let’s see what of my writing here you think proves that I hate Christians.

Have I advocated anything un-neighborly happening to peaceful Muslims? I would be horrified by anyone who would.

That does not mean that I do not have an obligation to speak the truth about Christ and challenge heretical teachings about Him.

As a human being I have the obligation to speak out against injustice as well! That is what is happening to Abdul Rahman. A horrible, horrible injustice. Where is your indignance about this grave injustice?
I’m going to go out here on a not-too-controversial limb here and say that, if there is a devout muslim who works for charities and wants to befriend Christians.
What are you talking about? A Muslim who works for charities and wants to befriend Christians? Why would I not be friends with someone like that?

But the Muslims who have come here are spreading false teachings about Christ and are attacking the Word of God.

You don’t seem to be able to see the distinction.

Really? Denying Christ is the Son of God gets you closer to Christ? Denying He even died on the cross gets you closer to Christ? Interesting theory.

Have you read the Good Samaritan Eden. I think it would make much sense on this tread.

Yes I have, the readers digest version, good one…

LOL I can only laugh at your nonsense.

You do know that he’s like the most prominent scholar on the Crusades in America right?

What does helping someone in need have to do with challenging heretical teachings about Christ on a forum?

Jesus makes that explicitly clear. “Not all who call my name…but those who do the will of the Father.”

It’s not my theory, it’s Jesus’s. Saying his name three times in the mirror every morning won’t make you a Christian; loving your neighbor will make you a Christian more than that will, even if you don’t know who Jesus is.

You can pretend that you’re just responding to injustice, but recommending propaganda reading like “A Politically Correct Guide to Islam” betrays a broader agenda of bashing Islam. I wish you would quit fooling yourself into believing that saying things like “Islam is evil!” actually convinces any muslims, or that it serves any purpose other than to make people like cestusdei feel better about hating islam.

There is a whole PIG (Politically Incorrect Guide) series. I have this one and the PIG of American History. I have not read them yet. I got them free with my subscription to Human Events.

I just get scarier and scarier …

The will of the Father does not include denying His Son.

The helper was someone everyone believed they had to hate, because Samaritans were bad. But Jesus shows that the Samaritan is a better neighbor than anyone else.

See the connection?

I don’t have to quote you, it’s in every hate filled post you write on the board. By dredging up non stop Nazi’s, the Crusades (and offerign a very one sided warped analysis of them), bashing Catholics in all era’s of history, you show yourself as an obvious anti-Catholic. I don’t have to quote anything, you do a fine job every post proving my assertion correct. You hate Catholics to the core, it’s obvious.

Think deeper about it maybe ti will come to you. Perhaps dwell on the difference between the Jew, Priest and Nobleman and maybe it will come to you. If not ask me.

Never mind, Pro already got it.
