What about “transparency” all this time?

Why is this just being leaked out?

Very disappointing to just be finding out about this lack of transparency.

We were recently assured how we were going to have an open honest and transparent discussion over the last several years.

The woman has not taken solemn vows of celibacy. In some cases she is having problems with her marriage and requesting help from a priest. In other case though, you are right, and she is acting as a temptress.
 
Sadly, it’s my understanding that the late Father Marcial Maciel raped his own sons! :cry:😠😡
 
Civil laws exist in most of Europe and the US whereby child support can be for 18 years independent of any guidelines; take them to court ladies!!!

It’s important to point out the difference between a religious priest and a secular (diocesian) priest.

In the Catholic Church, the secular clergy are ordained ministers, such as deacons and priests, who do not belong to a religious institute. While regular clergy take religious vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience and follow the rule of life of the institute to which they belong, secular clergy do not take vows, and they live in the world at large (secularity) rather than at a religious institute.
 
Correct, and their celibacy is a promise, not a vow. I am a secular Benedictine oblate, and my promise has the same wording as a monk’s profession, but it is a promise, and not a vow. Big difference!

Benedictines don’t vow chastity. They vow stability, obedience, and inner conversion. Chastity is indirectly implied in the vow of obedience though, as it is spelled out in the Rule we follow. I made the same commitments but in the form of a promise. As a secular married layman chastity does not mean complete continence, as it does for a monk.
