Correct, and their celibacy is a promise, not a vow. I am a secular Benedictine oblate, and my promise has the same wording as a monk’s profession, but it is a promise, and not a vow. Big difference!
Benedictines don’t vow chastity. They vow stability, obedience, and inner conversion. Chastity is indirectly implied in the vow of obedience though, as it is spelled out in the Rule we follow. I made the same commitments but in the form of a promise. As a secular married layman chastity does not mean complete continence, as it does for a monk.
