And you’re point? LiberalPrincess, I don’t care if 99% of American Catholics support this. The Church teaches truths…and these can never, and in fact will never, ever change…period! It never ceases to amaze me that liberal Catholics actually believe that if the majority supports something, then the Church must change to appease the masses! I work with several liberal Catholics who think like this. And even though I tell them time after time that the Church will never change their position on so-called SSM, and in fact can’t change this, they won’t budge. I’d have better luck convincing a brick.All they need to do is look at the various polls that have already been done on this issue. It is clear, at least in the USA, what side the majority of Catholics are on.
The did - sort of . The real poll was sent to the Bishops to distribute to deaneries and parishes.
I mean…I like that too, but I still wish the Vatican would poll to see where the trouble areas are. When I went through RCIA, one of the “cradle Catholic” women on campus sat in on our course on the 6th/9th Commandments and was visibly distressed at the moral teachings on homosexuality. This from a girl who has very, very strong faith in the Church! If we know where people are struggling to accept Church teachings, we would also know where to strengthen our intrareligious ministry. Just my 2 cents.

My understanding is that the purpose is to determine the nature of the problem (like how, where and why people are uninformed), to determine what methods are currently being used to proclaim Church teachings, and to determine how those methods can be improved.
Sadly, in some places you might. But those people aren’t running the Church. God, through the action of the Holy Spirit is, through His appointed ministers. Too bad we don’t listen to them more.
