Vatican embraces iTunes prayer book
The Vatican is endorsing new technology that brings the book of daily prayers used by priests straight onto iPhones.

The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Social Communications is embracing the iBreviary, an iTunes application created by a technologically savvy Italian priest, Rev. Paolo Padrini, and an Italian web designer.

The application includes the Breviary prayer book — in Italian, English, Spanish, French and Latin and, in the near future, Portuguese and German. Another section includes the prayers of the daily mass and a third contains various other prayers.

That sounds great, but I have a Nano (with a small screen). There is also currently another iBreviary in the iTunes store (by somebody else) which requires a touch screen-equipped iPod/iPhone.

Does anybody know of a similar app for Blackberry?

Considering I am thinking of getting an iPhone, I may look into this.

A friend of mine told me that one should look into the hidden fees that come with owning one. She said that she pays a mandatory $30/month for internet service for it. Apparently you HAVE to.

(I would have made that a PM if peregrinus had the feature enabled…that said, I don’t want to divert the topic)

I have enough reasons to get that anyways and was planning on doing so. Besides, it gives me another way to pick on my nephew

Thanks for posting that, I loved the story and hadn’t seen ibreviary and just down loaded it for my iphone.

Got my iPhone today. First thing I did was update the software and then I got iBreviary, Looks like I made the right choice
