Well, it looks like Intelligent Design will not be excluded after all. It would be better to actually hear from ID scientists, but at least it’s on the agenda:
VATICAN CITY (AP) – The Vatican says an upcoming conference on evolution will include discussion of intelligent design, but only as a cultural phenomenon - not as a scientific or theological issue.
Organizers of the March 3-7 conference, which marks the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s “The Origin of Species,” had originally excluded proponents of creationism and intelligent design from the conference.
But at a press conference Tuesday, they said they would include discussion of intelligent design, the view that life is too complex to have developed through evolution alone and that a higher power has had a hand in it.
