Vatican hopes secret files exonerate 'Hitler's pope'

I was sharing Gary Krupp’s book with my Jewish client, who escaped the Nazis from Cecheslovaia…I know that is not spelt right. She learned German, She was placed in a Carmelite boarding school, wanted to become a Carmelite nun, and her parents swooped her up and they moved to New York.

She told me in her family tradition that Pius XII was a good man. Likewise she brought up Roosevelt…and I remember him turning the boat away with Jewish exiles who came to our shores to avoid being murdered. They went back and if I understand correctly, they were captured and put into concentration camps.

Pope John XIII was complimented on his actions towards the Jews, and he replied that he was simply following in the foot steps of his predecessor.

I had no idea that Albert Einstein thought that way.
 
You will never find easily on internet.

I first heard about it from a Dominican priest who said that even Albert Einstein said only the Catholic Church speaks the truth.

I was looking for his quote. Could never find it. He was referred to in Fowler’s stages of faith as being on the universal level, and was quoted in saying that he saw God more in being than in religion.

Better to be marginalized than to be morally compromised. The Church is not better than her Founder. Christ allowed Himself to be “marginalized” rather than to compromise His message. Of course, ultimately He was glorified even in a worldly sense. In contrast, Pius XII tried to salvage Rome’s worldly prestige and status at the expense of the Church’s prophetic witness. In the end, he scandalized millions and reduced Rome’s moral prestige. It is the exact same mistake the Vatican has made with regard to the sexual misconduct cases.

Actually, there were many “concordats”.

These forced negotiations constantly “adjusted” the secular status of the Catholic Church.

On some other forum, some fellow claimed that the headquarters of the Catholic Church in Rome was not established until 1929, which is not true at all.

So, instead of just bringing up the word “concordat”, you need to go into some considerable detail.
 
Get the book by Gary Krupp. There is one photo of Pius leaving Nazi headquarters, and forged documents stating he was leaving at a later date in the 1930’s after some negotiation with them.

You have been baited by the communist spin.

The picture was actually taken in the latter 20’s and Pius claiming he never would go back there again in Germany.

If the Pope’s exoneration is coming out, it is Christian duty to find the truth rather than be party to the calumnies contrived about him by both Nazis and Communists.

The Latin and Orthodox Churches are in need of great healing and reunification.

I totally agree with you about America on points you brought up. Remember so many of us emailed, protested and aligned ourselves with JPII against our country going to Iraq to finish the job and take Saddam out, who was protecting the rights of ancient Christian churches.

I remember when our soldiers were driving into Baghdad…and no one around, militant clothing strewn along the roads…a set up was coming.

Cardinal Wuerl addressed the Synod of Bishops recently. He said secularism is as a tsunami hitting Christianity and peoples all over the world. He said the Africans now have cell phones, and are listening and seeing the filth coming out of our country. Secondly, the other great problem is secularism’s assault on the family and its destruction. In California, you don’t check mother or father any more on forms. Third, Islam. A bishop complained that a Muslim mosque, huge, got permission to stake itself in his diocese that has no Muslims, so it can begin converting former Christians.

It is alleged that the American ‘health’ programs were behind China’s one child policy. America is spreading its sex props for safe sex, abortion. Good news is more and more Americans are beginning to see secularism for what it is. We had the greatest pro life rally in Washington, DC but the media said it was mostly young people…numbering in several thousands. The media lies.

And the far left secularists are deliberately destroying our country’s economy while we passively sit by, this tremendous debt will enslave our future. America is the most powerful country in the world, but it has been taken over by secularism and its continual attacks to smear our faith and church and religion in general.

My father went through all my textbooks my first year in college. He said these were all Marxist leanings. My generation is the one that opted for abortion and no longer believing in the permanency of marriage. My parents called me every weekend all through college and help me stay focused. Didn’t the concordat provide that Jews who had converted to Christianity would not be subjected to persecution in Germany which allowed the Church to provide thousands of fake Baptism certificates to keep Jews from being deported?

You need to provide some kind of documentation … the claims are coming faster than folks can deal with them.

Pope Pius XII saved somewhere around 800,000 Jews from death.

In part he did that by ordering the Church to hide Jewish refugees in monasteries, etc.

In part he did that by providing forged identity papers prepared by Angelo Roncali ] which allowed the Jews to be sheltered in the Vatican [fed with groceries purchased with money smuggled in by Cardinal Spelman of New York City … according to the biography of Pope Pius XII’s housekeeper, Sister Pasquelina] … and then taken by Vatican Railways to ships that took them to safety. To this date, there is no authoritative information that has been released on where those refugees ended up. The British did not want them in the Holy Land. They didn’t have the range to get to Brazil or Argentina. So, maybe their destination was Spain which was actively resisting Hitler’s desire to have Spain join the Axis.]

The vatican has mad many concordats over history, but there was ONE principal Concordat between the Vatican and Nazi Germany, signed in 1933. Any subsequent “adustments” were based on this Concordat. It recognized the Hitler government, effectively silenced opposition to the Third Reich by Catholic clergy, confirmed the disbanding of the Centre Party, the main Catholic political party in Germany, and gave legitimacy to the Hitler regime both internationally and within Germany, at a time when the regime was still politically vulnerable.

So I am not just “bringing up the word ‘concordat’”.

You could benefit from reading Ronald Rychlak’s book “Hitler, The War, and the Pope”. This story is much more complex than you are implying here. He goes into this issue in excruciating detail.

What a wonderful documentry. Unfortunatly false witness will continue. It alwasy seemed to me that detractors of Pius XII granted to him Preternatural and Supernatural powers and then criticize him for not using them. In reality he was a man inside a barn of a building and just like now, not everone listened to the Pope.
 
Jharek…I give up…we already know the guy isn’t working with a full deck and that doesn’t mean the rest of the population is.

But reality is, Russia still has its parts that are totally obsessed with the USA, all our bad weather, etc., etc. etc. And they do plenty of stereotyping.

I don’t see the American press fixating on every thing that happens in Russia…and again our country has not committed pogroms…but it is coming up about the expanded prison compounds here in our country…scary enough.

From what I recall, this all started from Soviets pontificating against American GIs using prostitutes when in comparison their soldiers were engaged in mass rape campaigns against German women.
Such a comparison runs contrary to moral equivalence arguments, and therefore offends the current dictates of politically correct speech.
