Vatican Meets with U.S. State Department’s Gay and Lesbian Envoy

The encounter took place in a non-descript room at the Vatican, and conversation stuck to regular diplomatic briefs. But for the parties involved on Tuesday morning, the meeting held historic significance: Randy Berry, the first-ever U.S. Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI persons, and Vatican officials from the Holy See’s Secretary of State office were meeting for the first time.

Well, it’s missing at least Q and A, though I’m sure someone else will want anot her letter added for their type of normal. The most “inclusive” one I’ve seen to date is LGBTQIA.

Personally Q seems to work for all the aforementioned. All of them are queer as far as the original definition of the word goes (odd, unusual, different). You know, anything outside the norm.

The other day I saw LGBTTQQIA+ The two "Q"s are queer and questioning. The two "T"s are trans and two spirited. The “+” covers everything else, I guess. 🤷
 
Has anyone else noticed that the modern world is tottering between insanity and stupidity?

A more appropriate acronym would be AMORAL.

also… only 2 of the lgbtia are in the letters “amoral”… I had too im sorry 😛

I guess it’s a new position. I don’t know why – that is a good question: Why??? :confused:

Maybe the OP or someone can find out “why?”

What is the purpose of having a Gay and Lesbian Envoy??

Very sad. We need to pray more fervently than we have ever prayed before for our country and all true Christians to stay focused on saying the Holy Rosary EVERY DAY!

The U.S. Department of State has clearly overstepped its mission. While I welcome this dialogue, it can only continue in one way. I am against, as the Time article tells us, any form of violence and (unjust) discrimination, but Mr. Berry, acting under his mandate, is clearly pushing the LGBTI agenda. This means that a good thing happened as far as regards his first dialogue with the Vatican but there is every reason to believe his official, State approved position has only one purpose. The U.S. State Department should not discriminate in its efforts to have clear dialogue with any country to avoid war, persecution and discrimination against all people. This special position is unnecessary and amounts to collusion with a special interest group.

That said, I know the Vatican, which is concerned about injustice everywhere, will properly and charitably stand by its positions regarding the family and marriage. As Pope Francis said, “The doors of the Church are open.” All are welcome. But the limitations regarding the pastoral care of LGBTI persons have to be taken into consideration as well.

As a middle class, hard working blue collar guy, who is speaking for me and others like me?

We are the ones paying for all this non-sense, yet where is my envoy? We are the backbone of our country, going to work everyday, serving our country, paying our taxes, raising our families, going to Church, trying to play by the rules and stay true to the values we were brought up with.

Yet, who speaks on our behalf? Not our President, nor Congress, nor our Courts. Not even our dear Pope has a word for us, yet we fill the pews and pay for our Church and support it’s causes. We are being pushed aside by everyone. We are being marginalized, forgotten and taken for granted. In many cases, we are even looked at as evil

It’s all about the people that are warping everything that we now hold dear. They are the ones that get the attention. The gays, the LGB whatevers, the illegals, college students, professors, Hollywood actors, singers, sports stars, etc.etc. are destroying our value system. The world is coming off it’s axis and unlikely to ever return to the world and the values I knew. I only have faith in my faith and the Holy Catholic Church, although even that seems destined for radical changes. You can just feel it coming…😦

Sure, because advocating for basic human rights for LGBT individuals in parts of the world where LGBT people are tossed from buildings or otherwise maimed or killed and face institutionalized discrimination will destroy American and Christianity. :rolleyes:
