More than 300 parishioners filled the parish’s gym Tuesday night for a meeting with Lopes and other ordinariate officials. The standing-room-only crowd delivered a half-dozen standing ovations in recognition of Tuesday’s news and the work ahead.
“Never in the history of the church has canon law been so (welcome),” Lopes said, garnering laughter.

This was in today’s San Antonio Express News. I get the paper and read the article but not sure exactly what the back story is. You might search for Our Lady of the Atonement Church San Antonio. They may have more on this on the church website.

I was a member of Our Lady of the Atonement for 3 years while in dental school. That place is incredible. You feel like you’ve touched Heaven when you go to Mass there. It sounds like the Ordinary of the Anglican Use diocese is assuming control of the parish instead of the Archbishop of San Antonio. It makes sense: have leadership that understands the unique demands of an Anglican Use Catholic parish.

Thanks!

I found this article on the Ordinariate’s website ordinariate.net/news/becoming-one
I was just about to post that link. Heard about the story yesterday as the parish was called to a meeting with Bp. Lopes.

This is actually very good news for Anglicanorum coetibus. The circumstances were quite reminiscent of the recent history for many parishes within Episcopal Church and as such would have been met with great caution by people potentially crossing the Tiber. The initial situation was appealed to the Vatican with the results we read about today.

Here is a link to the parish website. atonementonline.com

I am really pleased it worked out as it did. As you know, Atonement is kind of a “lighthouse on a hill” for Catholic Anglicans.

…all parishes of the Pastoral Provision are to be incorporated into the Ordinariate: a special diocese for Roman Catholics who were nurtured in the Anglican tradition or whose faith has been renewed by the liturgy and evangelizing mission of the Ordinariate.
Or this.

What joyful news! The smile on Father’s face. The Lord has had mercy.

could you please copy / paste the whole article? OR PM the whole article to me? I cannot use the link.

Thank you and God Bless
Really sorry about that. I googled Our Lady of Atonement news and the linked result came up. I was able to read the whole article. I just did the same thing again but see that you have to be a subscriber but like I said was able to read it earlier. Church Militant has it as a news story but I’m not sure this forum allows links to that site.
