(ANSA) - Castel Gandolfo, September 2 - Workers’ rights are essential in a democracy and should not be driven by the markets, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, said on Friday.
Bertone was addressing a conference of the Association of Italian Christian Workers (ACLI) at Castel Gandolfo, where Pope Benedict XVI has his summer residence outside Rome.
“Social rights are an integral part of a real democracy and a commitment to respect that cannot depend merely on trends in the markets or stock exchanges,” Bertone said.
“In the context of the crisis, the uncertainty of work and conditions creates personal difficulties” and “access to work for all” should be an urgent priority…

There are still countries in this world where workers do not get a “just wage for type of work done” or have deplorable working conditions and hours,
or are forbidden to work as a form of persecution due to their religious beliefs etc.

Most of the job creators are small businesses.
Since the Obama Administration has allowed approx 200 big corporation unions and other big corporations to “opt out” of Obamacare, the cost for health care for the unemployed, poor, etc will be put on the small businesses.

Obama has no intention of going after big businesses which includes billionare union corporations.
He gave them our tax dollars, and allowed top execs to have $1 million dollar raises with our tax dollars.
AIG; Stanley Morgan; Goldman Sachs; Freddie Mac; Fannie Mae; Wells Fargo; Citi-Group;
US Bankcorp; GMAC; Captial One; BankAmerica; American Express; Sun Trust; Fifth Third;
Commerica; Country-wide; JP Morgan Chase; GM; Chrysler; and ACORN just to name a few.

Workers rights include the freedom of the right to work - without be “forced” to join a union; and for workers not to have their union dues support politicians who are pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, pro-gay marriage, etc.

yes lets through the workers at the feet of these huge multi-national corporations without unions.
