ummm…does anyone know where to purchase without getting in a plane and flying to Rome. Which, would be nice, but if I could afford to just fly over there for a cd, I would be there all the time.😃

I have no idea. Have you checked out various online Catholic stores? 🤷

yeah, I have checked catholic sites. I guess I will find it when it comes around…plus I will be in Rome in September so I can just wait till then. I want to get this cause my dad always prays the rosary in the car and thought he’d like to with this cd. Guess it will make a great gift from Europe.

Why do we need to pay to hear him saying the rosary? Plus it will probably not be in English, it will most likely be in Latin or Italian, shouldn’t be too difficult to pick up in either case.

It’s a CD compiled by Vatican Radio. CDs cost money to make and distribute. So, I don’t have a problem with paying for a CD. And the article already says that the language is Latin. In fact, the thread title says its in Latin.

CD’s cost money, but it’s easier and more cost effective, or rather no cost to put it up online.

It’s not like you become any holier listening to the pope saying the rosary anyways.

I really don’t understand your negative comments. Perhaps there are some who would enjoy listening to the CD in the car, for instance. If you are not interested or would not derive benefit from it, then don’t buy it. But, really, what is so upsetting to you about this topic that you need to inject negativity into what should be one of the lighter topics at CA?

I am not against the listening of Pope Benedict saying the rosary, but rather this sale of it.

I agree Cd’s cost money, but I took a look at the price, it’s $23, that’s more than a normal studio album…

Putting a recording of the Holy Father saying the rosary isn’t $23

It’s a 4 CD recording. I think the price is fair for 4 CDs in one set when comparing to the prices of other 4 CD sets out there:

Not really, CD’s cost literally nothing nowadays. And it’s not like Benedict composed the rosary and spent hours recording it.

You can get a pack of 50 CD’s for $20 or less. And it’s not like Benedict does this once every 5 years, he prays the rosary regularly.

Depends what you are comparing it to. 4 CD-sets as in music? That’s dependent on recording companies that are out there for a purely profit motive. Nevermind just looked at the link, I say look carefully at what you sent me:

" Dr. Laura Berman 4 Audio CD Set #2 Good Sex Good Relationships"

"2008 Country Profile and Guide to Afghanistan - National Travel Guidebook and Handbook - American War on Terror, Taliban, al-Qaeda (Al-Qaida), Bagram Airfield, Kabul, Khost, Karzai (Four CD-ROM Set) "

" Think Better, 4-CD Set: An Innovator’s Guide to Productive Thinking "

These kind of things are things that have to be thought out over months and scripted.

The rosary is well known and Benedict can do it in his sleep, bad comparison

Eitherways, why is it 4 CD’s long ? Is there something else on it? Because praying the rosary really isn’t 2.8GB. Even if you took an hour to pray the rosary you could only really use up 2 CD’s max with top notch recording quality and that’s also unlikely.

I guess this means you’re in the recording industry and know exactly what making a CD should cost.

Maybe CDs aren’t expensive in Australia. Here in the U.S., 23 American dollars is entirely reasonable.

For someone who is outraged by a $23 4 CD recording of Pope Benedict reciting the rosary, you seem to know very little about the actual product. Maybe you should investigate these things before commenting, as you were unaware previously that it was in Latin and was a 4 CD set, which I had to clarify. Now you are wondering about the full content. I suggest you gather all the facts before criticizing.

Well I for one will be purchasing this set. It is soothing to drive to work or drive home to the Rosary instead of the WORLD NEWS. Latin is the official language of Holy Mother Church and for all those people that advocate multi cultural languages Latin is a good foundation for most languages.
