Reading the article, without reading into it, I think the AB may have a valid suggestion. Surely there is a compromise between a unilateral review and breaking confidentiality. Faithful Catholics should not fear dialogue between religious and the Church hierarchy, as long is it protects the confidentiality of the religious who bring forth criticism. Yes, bring in the religious leaders for the discussion, but do not give them enough specifics to know who said what. If there is any hint at retaliation, remove them from office in favor of someone more Christlike.
