I am sixty five years old raised in Scotland live in Canada .i am stunned to learn that just by gender I was ever classed as" impure"did Christ ever say this if so , where? How dare any clergy take it on themselves to insinuate that their mothers ,sisters or daughters are less

ure’ than them by virtue of gender .what an insult to the Lord that made us all man ,women ,and in betweensThe reason there,s a lack of alter boys is the embarrassment of the pedophile scandal ,most young boys have to be cajoled into serving even if they feel they want to , blame the 'impure 'male clergy for this situation .these archaic statements about impure women make me ill.Just a thought I wonder how the men would do after five minutes of child bearing , the same heroes who can,t pass a a dentist office without fainting or get a flu shot without throwing up.but pushing females off the alter makes them feel important anne
Umm, let me think about that. So many bad statements in one paragraph!
So first of all, I can probably guess that you are female, right? Okay I will keep that assumption for the rest of the reply.
Now, no one has ever said that women are impure compared to men. We said that they have different roles. You, a woman, can bear a child. I, a man, can not. You have a different role. Women have the keen ability to care for children no man can. We can be good fathers, but a mother can care so much better for a child than a man can. A mother has softer skin, and so many other things that makes her better at caring for a child. She is not better than a man, but just different. Just like a man is not better than a woman, just different.
Jesus chose men for his ministry. Was any of the apostles women? No. Is that because men are better than women. No. It is because men have a different vocation than women do. Women cannot be ordained because Jesus did not ordain women. It is that simple.
Priest scandals. Real mature.

Did you know that Protestant ministers had a much higher percentage of people who commited sexula abuse? No, you probably didn’t because the media doesn’t care to tell the truth. Did you know that some estimates are as low as less than 1% of all priests committing these acts. Some are higher, but I tend to believe the lower numbers, becuase these studies were not done by the media themselves.
Altar serving has nothing to do with the priest scandals.
Men have adifferent purpose than women do. You are right, we could not bear a child. I am too weak for that. (And I don’t have the right parts, but that is something to ask your parents about)
God Chose men for his ministry. Why? You can ask him about that when you die, but until then, you will just have to accept that.
Altar serving should be reserved to boys, because it keeps with the image of Men being priests. Men can be priests, women can not. We are not pushing you off the altar, you were never there in the first place. Even if you think you become ordained, you never will be. The church does not have the authority to ordain women. Period.
