I respect Pope Francis and I appreciate him as my leader in the faith. However, this statement of being ‘appalled’ strikes me like vinegar in an open wound. I love the french people and lived in France several years and have much appreciation for their culture. I am in no way shape or form justifying the murder of the innocent and attacks on civilians.

However, Pope Francis remained silent when hundreds of children were being shredded into pieces and the whole population of Gaza was being terrorized Summer of 2014. Why was he not appalled then?

This situation sends a bad message to the world. French lives are worth more than the Muslim lives - if this is the position of the Pope - I vehemently disagree. Otherwise, he would be wise to redirect his diplomatic approach.

I also have no appreciation for the ad on that website that calls to adopt a Christian child from Mosul. I don’t have a preference - Christian or Muslim - they are human beings and are all my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.

Again, I respect the Pope and this is the first time I have ever disagreed in public with a pope, but, it is important to me.

Abba, there is a lot he said and did about Gaza . You can google it. He even phoned the Presidents.

Oh my gosh.

I can’t even reply to this - it’s so convoluted.

Just tell me this:

How is a muslim your brother in Christ???

Thanks for a reply.

Fran

So who has the authority to determine theological truths- the Church or Muhammad? The Church teaches that Muslims worship the same God we do. What Muhammad says about it only matters if you think he had the same authority as the Church.

I know what you are considering but you are wrong and about your attitude towards Muslims as well. I will let you figure it out all by yourself since you are disrespectful and I don’t want to convolute you anymore than you already are.

Matthew 12:48-50

But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

You cannot judge the souls of people, in His wisdom God will judge them according to how much they knew and what they did etc…or are you one of the ones that think only Catholics go to heaven? One thing I can tell you is that there is a special place in hell for Catholics (Don Bosco) because we are blessed to hold the true faith and so who ends up in hell regardless of this - have a special place in hell - where the heat is stronger.

Luke 12:48
But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

It has probably been a mistake not to recognize Islamic fundamentalism for what it is when it becomes a militant ideology.
Have you noticed that Zionism has become a militant idealogy?

All this while yet another Muslim country is being bombed. How many Syrians have died in the last couple of days? Anyone? Does anybody care? It’s not a la mode to care nor to care about the destruction of their civilization and cultural heritage. The super powers are fighting against each other in foreign lands behind the scenes of the public - but they are doing it in Muslim/Arabic countries. Bombing after bombings as the decades goes by and people just throw stones instead of trying to heal the wounds.

Nice that you’re using the N.T. to show me how they’re your brothers.

Jesus also said to be as gentle as doves and as wise as serpents.

Do you know what they think of Jesus?
Do you realize they hate christians?
Do you know they call you a crosswearer?

I’m not wrong Abba. I’ve been where you’re at and you’re not in the right place.
Here’s how it is - and you really should go back and read all the posts from everyone.

God is one. The big 3 monotheistic religions believe in the same God. Yaweh, Jehovah, Elohim, Abba, as Jesus called Him (BTW, God was never referred to as Father in the Old Testament).

Okay. We’re good so far.

Now Jews have the O.T. just like we do. Then we got the New Testament. Jesus is God. So we’re still good.

Do you remember that John said that there would be no further revelation after Jesus? That no words were to be added or taken away from the, what became known as, the bible?

In the year 600 or so Muhammad wrote the Koran. He doesn’t say he wrote it, or that it’s inspired like our bible, he said tha GOD wrote it.

Please read the Koran. Please explain to me how God wrote it.

Now here’s the problem. Jesus was a peace loving fellow - wasn’ He? Remember the beatitudes? Was Muhammad a peace loving fellow? Another question: Do followers of islam follow the laws of God or the laws of Muhammad? They think they’re following the laws of God - do you??

I’m sorry if you feel I was disrespectful to you. I don’t know you and have no personal opinon of you. I think your IDEAS are a bit mixed up.
I’m getting sleepy and will sign off.

It would be good for you to read the Koran.

Fran
P.S. I’m not judging their soul but their actions. I don’t think much of their soul either, BTW. Do YOU Think they’re doing the will of the Father? And you sure do speak a lot about hell for someone who doesn’t want to be judgmental.

Nice that you’re using the N.T. to show me how they’re your brothers.
Oh, you think it’s nice? How about that.
Jesus also said to be as gentle as doves and as wise as serpents.

Do you know what they think of Jesus?
Do you realize they hate christians?
Do you know they call you a crosswearer?
And, do tell, what do you THINK about them? Aren’t you calling for their eradication from the face of the earth? How peaceful and sweet.

You don’t know where I am at because from where I am at - there is no turning back. You have never been here nor have come this far.

That is the Muslim’s belief. Why are you attacking them now? Why aren’t you also concerned with the Mormons? Do you think the Mormon’s book was translated from golden plates found by Joseph Smith?

So, because according to your mis- interpretation of the Koran not being a peaceful religion we Christians are justified in destroying their civilization and shredding their children into pieces and destroying their genes and contaminating their land. Got it.

And you think the Jewish faith is peaceful and loving? Really? Or is it that it is just not in to confront them and it is easier to attack the Muslims and hop on the wagon? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism_and_violence

I think your ideas are MIXED UP.

Your errors are self-evident and require no reply.

WHERE are you at Abba?

BTW, you started using scripture first…

Okay. I know what you’re talking about. I’ve told a poster several times that he can’t learn about christianity from the net.

But, let me ask. Have YOU read the Koran?

If not, you should.

If so - what impression did it leave on you?

You know, a big picture. I agree that you can’t learn about a religion from it’s book. But you could glean a lot and get the Big Picture.

There remains the question of stoning to death the woman accused of adultery. It would seem there are those who believe Jesus was wrong and his mercy should not have been extended to her. I believe this cannot be reconcilled with Christian belief.

Fran, we do not agree. You must have posted we did after I posted.
We do not need to read the Koran. We need to let them read it in peace. There is much respect among religious people.
Nor a person needs to read the New Testament to understand there is another person of his human race to be compassionate and loving.
Whatever your experience has been, please do not drag ,at least me,into this religious aggression towards anyone.
ISIS is an ideology which Muslims are coming out all over expressing their compassion and grief about what has happened, It is Islamists who are coming out to say that violence is not what their religion is about. In their own understanding,ISIS deeds are appalling.
I do not understand the need there seems to be to go about proselytizing,I don t.
I did not grow but playing in the street with other children, just like me: children. That is all. And that is how I pray it remains.
In any case,peace .

The proper action against militant Islamism, like against any of the forms of fascism, IS militancy.
Zionist is not, nor ever has been, a pacifist movement. Christianity likewise is not pacifist, and Islam in any of its major forms, has never been pacifist either.
This is not about superpowers taking over the world anymore. The pope is not addressing the barbarity of the superpowers, but the barbarity of ISIS, which is responsible for much of the barbarity that is occurring in the lands that it is oppressing today.

Military action is not the only action that is required to defeat Islamism. Ultimately, the solution to Islamism will come from within Islam, be it a return to the more secular ways of the sixties, or rejection of religion by Muslims wholesale in disgust of what Islam has become, or finding new modes of Islam that rejects the chauvinist supremacy and the violence inherent in dhimmitude and the sharia developed for a more primitive age.
But in the meantime, those on the outside are justified in a militant action against the militants that seek to kill us and eradicate Christians and Jews from anywhere that Christians and Jews have their necks exposed to these barbarians.

My nineteen year old borrowed my car today. It’s packed with his friend which are all of different nationalities and faith. The one that is driving is Jewish and I smile as I think about how he is driving all around town and in their excursion to some game place with my rosary dangling from the rear view mirror. You can’t miss my rosary, it is of pure gold and the beads are of arora boralis which shine like diamonds when hit by sun rays and if you take a curve to tight it dangles and makes noise. 😃 The last thing the driver is thinking about is my rosary. They have all been friends since the fourth grade and they will be friends for life. They are not letting all this stuff interfere with their friendship and they respect each and each other’s faith. We should learn from the children.

I’m not a hateful person Graceview.

I’ve read the Koran. It’s not good. It’s no wonder this is all happening. Try reading it sometime. Not all muslims agree with what is happening. But you’re hearing an outcry which neither I nor others are hearing. I have a friend from Morocco a couple of blocks away. She’s dismayed - but I have to wonder why. Maybe it’s just from the backlash? I’ll never know. Maybe in the heart of muslims they wish we satan worshippers would jsut disappear. I’ll never know. All I could go by is what I see - and I’m not seeing anything good.

I grew up in NYC and know all about these different children you speak of. You say peace and I want peace too. But, you know what? It’s going to take both sides to have peace. If only one side wants peace, it still won’t be peaceful.

Re proselytizing. Interesting you should bring this up. There are protestant preachers and also catholic missionaries who are converting many muslims to the christian faith. But they cannot be in their country of origin because it’s so dangerous for them. They are banned from seeing family members and are even threatened with death. Let’s see. Would YOU be threatened with death by your christian church if YOU decided to become a member of the Islamic faith??

Amen to that.

Difficult to try using pleasant, persuasive conversation and sincere love when someone is entering my home holding a knife and intending to use it.

Why is this such a difficult concept?

Fran

Sorry about all the grammar errors and typos. I just bang at the keyboards. This one just stands out to me: It’s packed with his friend which are all of different nationalities and faith. It should have been: It’s packed with his friends who are all of different nationalities and faith. And then there is this: They are not letting all this stuff interfere with their friendship and they respect each and each other’s faith. And it should have been: They are not letting all this stuff interfere with their friendship and they respect one another and each other’s faith.

Have a nice day everyone. 🙂
