“One of the hardest things to understand, for us Christians is the gratuity of salvation in Jesus Christ.” “It would do us all good to ask ourselves today: Di I believe that the Lord has freely saved?”. And again "Do I believe that I deserve salvation? And if something I do deserve something then do I know that it is through Jesus Christ and what He has done for me? ".

“Teeny tiny” doesn’t sound to me like an expression a Pope would use. In fact it sounds like an expression nobody of the female sex would use unless they were talking to a baby, and nobody of the male sex would ever use at all.

It was only the Asia News headline writer, however, who put those unfortunate words in the Pope’s mouth. In the body of the news report we read, in more sober, adult language:

“They limited God’s horizons and made the love of God into something very, very small”, the Pope said.

Presumably the Pope was speaking Italian, but that’s no excuse. There are good translations and bad translations. There’s such a thing as appropriate and inappropriate language.
