Vatican: Popular Chilean priest is guilty of sexual abuse

An investigation carried out by the Vatican concluded that the popular Chilean priest Fr. Fernando Karadima Farina is guilty of sexually abusing minors.

Archbishop Ricardo Ezzati of Santiago, Chile announced the results of the inquiry made by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on Feb. 17 at a press conference.

I pray the children he hurt will be healed and overcome the damage he has caused them and for his one time congregation who’s trust he has betrayed. The Vatican did a thorough investigation which is more than can be said for the secular law in this matter if this man has not been been found guilty by it yet. Perhaps it was the Vatican’s action that encouraged the officials to re-open the civil case. But I suppose the secular world will prefer not to see it that way.

The secular gov’t is still investigating.
The Church cannot send anyone to jail.
