Just an observation here… but YOU have impugned your Catholicism by refusing to forgive. I had no intention of causing the hostility that appears to have erupted as a result of starting this thread. I’ll ask the mod to please remove it. Please, in the future try to be more charitable.
I am not obliged to forgive if the apology is insincere and couched in terms that further offend.

And, in any case, I did not say I did not forgive, I said I would not accept an insincere apology.

Western society has become far too litigious. And, what Liberal Party of Canada leader Michael Ignatief referred to as “rights inflation.”
Collective rights without individual ones end up in tyranny. Moreover, rights inflation–the tendency to define anything desirable as a right–ends up eroding the legitimacy of a defensible core of rights…
The right to freedom of speech is not, as the Marxist tradition maintained, a lapidary bourgeois luxury, but the precondition for having any other rights at all.
With regards to religion, I think this is especially true. And all camps are guilty of it to some degree. We think we know what real oppression is and we have no clue. I pray that we never do.
