"The Vatican said the dismissal had nothing to do with Charasma’s reflections on his personal life, which it said “merit respect”.
“But it said his interviews and the planned demonstration was “grave and irresponsible” given their timing on the eve of a synod of bishops who will discuss family issues, including the Church’s position on gays.”
I have been 100% supportive of what has been going on with Pope Francis in the chair of Peter.
However, the comment from the Vatican implies that Charasma’s lifestyle
wasn’t the problem, it was the fact that he planned to participate in a public spectacle intended to boost support for views that oppose the Church on the eve of the synod,
What’s up with that?
He absolutely ought to have been sacked for stepping out of line so publicly, but shouldn’t his choice of lifestyle have been enough to sack him a long time prior to this?
