Vatican Says Hybrid Popemobile On The Way

All-electric vehicles have been ruled too slow, but the Pope’s gas-guzzling Mercedes is on its way out.

The Pope is getting a new energy-efficient popemobile.
Mercedes is supplying a custom-made M-Class plug-in hybrid.

Last December, we told you that the His Holiness The Pope was keen on swapping his large gas-guzzling Mercedes SUV ‘popemobile’ for a suitable electric car.

I have to say this, I always thought the popemobile was an electric golfcart type vehicle. I never really looked at it closely enough to discern it was a Mercedes.

I see him as being mindful that we are indeed stewards of the earth and all creatures contained there in. That stewardship was giving to Adam, and the Holy Father is being a faithful steward. It’s my understanding that there are even solar panels within Vatican City.

I don’t care if people think he is pandering to left or right on any giving situation. Anyone who claims such doesn’t quite understand what faithful discipleship means in it’s totality.
