This sounds far out but this is what I heard yesterday while getting my hair done at the beauty salon.
A hairdresser was discussing her upcoming wedding with everyone within earshot…coworkers, customers and her own mother.
The bride said she had planned a fast organic and natural wedding ceremony. She didn’t want it to be a churchy or Bible ceremony but promised her mother that God would be mentioned at least one time.
Organic?!!
Natural?!!
While this incidence is far out there, it exemplifies the need for some serious marriage preparation.
Marriage preparation should start well before a couple is engaged to be married. In the past, this early preparation and understanding occurred in the home. The problem today is that so many families are riddled with divorce and children are often growing into adulthood with out stability and benefit of parents that are together.
The Church must bypass the foundational family and reach beyond to each couple seeking married life similar to the way it currently reaches out to men who might be interested in Holy Orders.
