Vatican warns of 'wayward' Opus Angelorum sect

The Vatican has warned Catholic bishops around the world to monitor carefully a secretive traditionalist sect which prays to angels to combat demons.

Opus Angelorum, which means “the work of angels” in Latin, was founded by an Austrian housewife who died in 1978.

She claimed to have identified the angels and demons who were battling for the control of human beings.

The Church said some members of the sect were carrying out “activities that disturb the ecclesiastical community”.

Be careful when relying on the mainstream media for reporting on Catholic news. It is not Opus Angelorum that is problematic (anymore), but rather those who split from it as O.A. brought itself in-line with Church doctrine.

Despite the distortions made by the media, I think I’ll continue to pray the traditional St. Michael prayer written by Pope Leo and reaffirmed by JP II as a powerful and effective means of combating evil in the world today. Of course, Satan would like nothing better than for us to stop petitioning the angels for help against the battle.
