The “Sin of Adam” as the New Testament calls it, can only be atoned for by males. It’s not called the “Sin of Adam and Eve” for a reason. Adam had the ultimate authority granted by God as steward of life on Earth. He blew it; and sin and death came into the world when Adam ate the Forbidden Fruit.

The details revealed in the link make Bishop Morris’ claims that the entire affair was a misinterpretation of his pastoral letter excacerbated by personal grudges against him appear disingenuous at best.

A newly disclosed internal report indicates that the Vatican had been trying since late 2006 to get Australian Bishop William Morris to correct his abuses of Church doctrine and liturgy before finally removing him as head of the Toowoomba diocese earlier this month.
The document was prepared by two priests loyal to Bishop Morris, Father Peter Schultz, the diocese’s judicial vicar, and Fr. Peter Dorfield, former vicar general of the diocese. The two are part of an eight-member body of priests who make up the bishop’s “college of consultors.”
The Vatican announced Bishop Morris’ removal on May 2.
The new document confirms that the Vatican removed the bishop for flagrant abuses in the celebration of the Sacrament of Penance and for advocating women’s ordination to the priesthood.

One section includes: “LOSS of ECCLESIASTICAL OFFICE” by resignation, transfer, removal, privation.
We each have a responsibility to report any liturgical, heretical, schismatic or other abuse to our Pastor.
If the Paster does not respond, forward it to the Diocese Bishop.
If the Bishop does not respond or is the guilty party - after sending him a letter, report it to the Vatican if it is not corrected quickly.

According to the consultors’ document, he also “broke with tradition and wore a tie, embroidered with his coat of arms, rather than the Roman Collar.” The consultors added: “The Bishop offered each priest a black tie with the Diocesan Arms and indicated that the wearing of the tie was to be considered clerical dress, along with the collar and the white shirt with crosses, the choice being left to the individual cleric.”

The present thread opens with a news article with a great deal of information not in the news article opening the other thread on this subject. I had thought of posting information about this bishop’s story myself here, and I looked and and wide for articles on his dismissal. Frankly, almost all the articles put out in the media came from several pieces endlessly repeated, polemical pieces working to make the Vatican look bad. The news article opening the current post is a rare exception not pillorying the Vatican, nor skipping over much information about this bishop’s behavior, information that throws light on his unfortunate actions.
